Parthian wars; worth buying?

Sat Dec 21, 2013 8:28 pm

I've been away from AJE for a long time, yet have noticed the release of the newest campaign pack. How good are the Parthian scenarios? Are they challenging in SP?

I have played the Crassus scenario several times against the AI and failed to win until to now, both from the Roman and Parthian side.

The desert climate is special, the Parthian forces are special.

Oh my, such a nice extension of this game. Some really lovely historical situations, plus Caesar without the Ides of March. Pretty nice in my view.

I'd say it's definitely worth buying. These are all interesting scenarios and the Parthians are worthy opponents to the Romans. Both sides are quite different from each other, which only increases replayability.

In case anyone else is wondering about buying the expansion, I bought it and have been happy! Unfortunately the AI is still pretty bad, but the scenarios seem really interesting for PBEM. Thanks for all the recommendations!

I bought it last night in the middle of the night thinking it was standalone..... then got the base game. Excellent combination and I'm glad I made that mistake. :)
