Army commander bonuses...

Thu Oct 17, 2013 4:39 pm

Do Army commanders give their attack/defence bonuses to corps if the corps is not in the same stack or region?? (Assuming the commander is in range).

Yes, with random variations.

Click on the tab with the corps, then mouse over the Corps diamond icon on the lower right of the display.

They can give a bonus or a maulus, depending on their strategic/attack/defense ratings (it may not be the full value of their rating). This is what makes Little Mac such a problem as an army commander. He hurts all his subordinate corps with his bad numbers. This is also what makes Lee so great. He is almost always giving a +1 or +2 to each corps commander's rating.

It would be great if they would pass their traits as well.

Thanks for the info guys. I have sent Jackson off into the wilds of W.Virginia where he is out of range of my army commanders. He successfully took Morganstown but now it is March 1862 and I want to activate him as a Corps commander. Presumably I have to bring him back to within range of Lee in order to activate him as a Corps commander?? Then I can detach him as an independent corps I believe...

Yes, to build a new corps you must be in the range of the army commander (= to his strategic rating).
