I have produced a collection of new music (original music is included) to enjoy while playing this awesome game. It is much more than just a collection of songs, I have also included excerpts from civil war documentaries and movies to add atmosphere and also to inform about the history of this great conflict. Listen to quotes from famous civil war characters like Lincoln, Jeff Davis, Lee, and Grant, plus commentary from renowned civil war expert Shelby Foote. There are over four hours of listening here. Download and then save to your Civil War II\CW2\Sounds directory. Enjoy... music to conquer by...

Thanks to minipol for the following instructions on how to include the new music files so that they play in the game. Make sure to make a back up copy of your original sound file as this will overwrite the sound file with the new music.

1. copy the files to the Civil War II\CW2\Sounds directory
2. rename them so they look like the other music files (no underscore) in the directory, just the number, followed by a space, then the name of the file.
I made sure they are all called x1 (some files where called number_x2.mp3).
3. add them to the Musics.ini file as shown below:

If you hover over the link, you'll see that it refers to an upload result page.
You get a login page when following the link.
I think it's a great idea, adding more music to the game!

SORRY GUYS! I'm new to this file sharing! I have pasted 2 NEW LINKS which should work now Mediafire and Filefactory. Thanks for your patience. I hope you enjoy it... it took me four days to do this... I play it every time with the game and it makes the whole experience much more immersive!

Thanks, it worked.
I did the following to get it to work.

Thanks minipol. Now I can listen to the music in game! I have 2 questions:

1) You recommend renaming all the files "x1" but the list you wrote for the music.ini file has the original AGEOD files with some of them "x2". So those same files should be matched by a x2 in the sounds directory correct??
2) Did you add anything to the "sounds.ini" file also??

1) I renamed the files so the part after the number (x1 or x2 for some files) would be the same. If you don't rename them, you'll have to adjust the names of the files in the list that goes in the musics.ini file too
to resemble the correct name.

2) No, I left the sounds.ini file like it was

In order to expand the music, I have first tried to indentify what music we already have in this list.
Doubles are ok, if the song is different enough.

To help identify, you could download the new music.rar file and look in this list for songs that don't have a full title yet.
I only listed the new music files, not the ones already in the standard game
