Replaying Previous Turns?

Fri Oct 04, 2013 3:26 pm

The manual seems to say that we can replay previous turns in a current game. I cannot see how to do this. Also the manual speaks of hitting `esc` to go to 'saving option screen'. I don't see this either. Thanks in advance for your time and help.

Replay Option is only available for PBEM saves. Furthermore, take most of the things in the manual, especially the PBEM and other load/save options with a pinch of salt. Some stuff is still from the old system; though AFAIK the manual is being updated.

Welcome to the forums Gray Ghost. You will find a wealth of knowledge here about all AGEOD games.

As to your question: After you click on the load screen, you will see your saved games. You then click on the game in question. At this point, a new icon should pop up in the upper right of the screen (it looks like a black computer chip to me). If you hover over it, it says "saved game manipulations". Click on this, and you will see options. One of the options is replay previous turn. This allows you to re-do your last turn. You can go back several turns this way.

Hope this helps.

Manual says their is a setting to determine number of turns one can go back. Any idea where the setting is?

You can go to C:\Games\Civil War II\CW2\Settings folder, open the file system.opt with the notepad, look for line sysBackupNum = 3. Change 3 to number of turns you want to keep for backup.

Are you guys sure you're talking about "replaying" the previous turn and not "return to previous turn"?

The manual has some gaps, the part about using 'replay' should have been removed.
