Can please anyone give some info about the different types of forts in the game?do they offer different level of protection?which are destructible?

Forts are split by level, you should get a diamond icon near the city in this case (for pre war Forts, they are all first level). Their strength is rather proportional to this level.

I think that only stockades (level 1 fort in the west) can be razed.

How to increase a fort level?

You can't increase fort levels, only a few forts are level 2 and they are only given by events IIRC.

By checking the structures files in the game i think that each type of fort might give a different chance of surrender(if i got it correctly)but probably there is much more to it.
Oh well with your games its a never ending process of learning which i actually love.
