Do we still have that ability as in CW I?

Yes, i tested it yesterday using ALT+click. It works most of the time.
Strangely, i did not manage to change the name of a newly created army, but managed to change the name of any others stacks. Maybe a bug.

Yes, ALT+click will open up it as usual. We still can't add apostrophes (" ' ") which is annoying to someone like me who likes to see proper grammar on my Corps' names. " ' "still opens the console.

You've never been able to change Army names as those are tied to the region in which they were formed.

My first army created was the army of potomac in grand campaign. My second army in the same region was only "Union Army".
Not a name very tight to local region :D

Can the names of elements be changed? I read in the original AACW forum that due to the way the first game was made, this was impossible to do. I hope this is a possibility the second. It would be nice to customize the names of the elements so you wouldn't end up with doubles with the same names and give each a greater amount of individuality.

This should be improved in the first official patch.

You can change army names. First, you must remove the army commander. Then, you can alt-left click to rename the army stack. Then, you place the general back in the stack. The army retains its new name.
