I have sent everything to Lukasberger for fist evaluation. If all is agreeable, I can produce it within 3 days max and we can start as soon as all positions are filled.

The first turn, for technical reasons, will be very limited (just a few moves, nothing much more). So you can use it to review your realm and start talking with other players.

I think that as soon as we are complete, we could all start 'grand diplomacy'...

Could I ask that we start on - first ord to be submitted - 17 March, next Sunday? I know it is a bit far away, but given PhilThib also needs some time and I will be away for the second part of next week, and would not want to miss the ery beginning, I would ask fellow players if we can set that as our start date, provided, of course, that everything else has been done by that time.

Will the changes being made be useful/usable in single-player?

Indeed, I believe some will, for example the embassies decisions.

I sent you the email so you can check for yourself.

What are we looking for with this updated file? To make sure our countries are not messed up?

Now half of you have received the link to download and can thus evaluate their countries.

While running 6 first months of game in a trial today, I stumbled on some minor but annoying issues that need fixing, and this shall be done within the next 2-3 days. So we are almost ready to start.

I would like that all of you could run at least 2 turns of the game, and let me know if they see something weird or damaging for their game. FYI, small powers setups have been seriously beefed up compared to standard 1880 game, and I tried to give all powers some kind of 'easier' start with key strategic assets, mostly coal, so they can run their economy and forces a few turns (leaving them time to sort out agreements or actions).

When we start, all of you will see on turn 2 a few changes in the OOB's, and may be some extra assets received: this will be a normal adjustment process following first hosting of the game engine.
Thus Turn 1 of the game will be restricted, for the same reasons, to only a few things like moves and trade orders, but no other actions (no building, no ingame diplo, no colonial or else) otherwise it would upset the balance... In other words, turn 1 will be for you to discover your nation, make minor adjustment, and wait start of turn 2 for full play experience.... you can use the T1-T2 time to enter into 'live' diplomacy with otehr players, so no wasted time...

So once this is done, Lukasberger and coolbeam should all give us the date of start

Which patch should we be on this? I assume the latest one.

Also, what if we don't have the 1880 DLC? Do we have to purchase (I ask as I loaded the game, but don't see the scenario). It's not a problem if I have to, but I want to make sure I am doing it correctly).
Remember - The beatings will continue until morale improves.

Latest patch for sure...I am always trying to work with latest game version...

As for the 1880 DLC, you don't need to purchase it (but you should just to support us now that we are no longer Paradox...lol :mdr: ), all the files needed to play this mod are included

Im actually considering buying some games from this site as i consider the Steam and other lowered prices insulting towards your games.
Naturally if i was a student or unemployed things would be different but a dinner costs more than your great games.
Do you get the whole sum in this site or does Paradox claim a share still?

1) Do the changes affect the singleplayer game in a way that can make it broken or can I just add them over my main Pon folder?

2)Do we need to add in this game the modified files or the other PBEM too?

So I "installed" the scenario from PhilThib (it is not trivial "just unpack", so be careful witch folder do you use), started the game like Chinese, looked on my possibilities (which are not so huge), saved the game (ORD file) and sent it back to PhilThib ... according instructions. It looks we are ready to start ... :bonk:

Received. Thanks.

I am sorry I could not make in time a complete installer for this, as I preferred to improve the content. Once I get all orders, I'll do somethign cleaner with latest elements (still one or two minor fixes upcoming).

Now, I am stuck for lack of response by some key players, so until then, we can't start. I'll use the time to work out 2-3 key house rules that should improve the game experience.

[PON] - World in Conflict 1880 - House Rules Suggestions

Tue Mar 12, 2013 9:33 am

I am proposing the following house rules. I guess most would be interesting to give the game a real historical flavor. The one that really needs a debate and the concerned player opinion is the Belgium 'neutrality' rule.
Cheers

No country shall send to the heart of Africa (all theatres except North African ones, Egypt, Sudan and South Africa) forces that are Division size or higher.

I have only a probleme with this rule, If I buil Fort in Senegal with medium garnison without Division force, that can be hard to attack that city, and I ma not sure to understand Division force taille is what?

But I am really ok for random event for kill many men of troop, same in small troop.
