There's an interesting boardgame about the Chinese Republic, including the 2nd Sino-Chinese War called "Warlords: China in Disarray, 1916 - 1950" (1986). It's made by an Australian developer - and here comes the clou - named "Panther Games": Dave O'Connor (Arjuna) et al. who switched over now doing a fine computer game, the "Command Ops Series".

I'd love to see such a game made by Ageod. But honestly, I think this would be another volunteer-associated project like RUS, AJE, BOR or SCW.
Problems is, too few battles in 1927-1937 to make it an AGE style operational game. As such maybe a Long March game somehow could work.
But for representing the essence of the era arguably you'd need a healthy dose of character driven dirty party politics & backstabbing like in "Kremlin" and "Junta"(with Shanghai as Junta capital) along with monthly turns.

Unfortunately, the Age engine, as it is now (?!), would need an overhaul to do this. And given the rather exotic & touchy theme, such a game probably never will be made.
