I take it that the thing to do is just to replace the TRN and HST files with the ones from the previous turn in backup1? I am assuming that it was a filesystem issue rather than a game one, in the first instance.
Basically those files for your last turn are in [game directory]\VGN\Saves\[name of game] and the backup files are in subdirectories from there. Game directory for a steam install is by default c:\program files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\xommon\pride of nations\ but I imagine that it's the same structure below that for other install methods.
Yep tried it but unfortunately, the 'saved' game does not appear in the 'load game' section. Normally, when it freezes and sends me to the main menu, I just end the game, restart it, and then find the saved game, go back one turn and then it works normally. Unfortunately, this time round there is no saved game in the main menu, although when I go into the game's folder, the saved game is still there. Wierd...
