2) When do you get it?
3) What techs do you need to get it?
Sorry if impatient, but I was a bit miffed have researched iron-cladding of wooden ships to only get river squadrons.

Could you tell me when you got "armoured frigates", which I believe is Warrior's class (ironic considering she was the largest warship in the world on construction). In reality she was built in 1860, but I don't see that happening as I'm in 1857 and subsidising all naval techs I see.
Egg Bub wrote:Hmm. That is strange, because as far as I know HMS Warrior didn't have any turrets. It is a completely different type of ship from monitor for example.
This may be wasting time but do you get anything that looks like this with the "iron ships" tech - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Warrior_(1860)? Warrior was more of a battleship than a frigate if you are looking at size.

Kensai wrote:Guys, it's a game. As much as realistic it can be, it will always need to make some generic abstractions. Yes, the original Warrior cannot be built before early 60s because it needs a tech that gets unlocked (to be researched) not earlier than 1860.
Warrior wasn't unique: she had an identical sister ship, Black Prince, launched two months later. Three months after that, the British launched two more ironclad frigates, Defence and Resistance, which were smaller than the first two but otherwise very similar in design. So that's your four-ship squadron right there...Kensai wrote:Remember, the Warrior was unique and each unit of ships in the game is a squad of at least 4 vessels.
