making changes to the save game/game files

Hi

I'm looking for some general advice/comments. My S-P/Italy game is up to late 1868 and very little is happening in the rest of Europe (in particular no German unification events). Equally having read something about the AI over-hording state cash I wanted to check if that was the reason the world economy was relativey undynamic.

Now I'm not very good at modding or writing scripts (editing a clauswitz save game file is my limit), so I used the ~ to shift factions in turn. Looking around all the European powers have massive state funds reserves (Prussia had about 20,000), France has a massive rebel problem and so on.

Equally how can I get the German unification chain going. I don't know what events have fired ... the only ones I've seen are the Schleswig-Holstein set, so nothing about Customs Union/Erfurt/Dresden. At the moment Prussia and Austria have a solid 100% love in with each other.
