Error when starting a scenario

I have been experiencing a few problems:

1) The game takes at least 10-15 minutes to start and my computer running Win 7 is way above the specs to run this game. I have run other Ageod products on this machine with no issues.

2) I receive an error after a given scenario loads, something like "We're sorry but there is a problem, contact Ageod developers at the forums with the error in !Mainlog.txt.
I believe the following is the error line in the report:

I don't speak French but I think it says something like cannot create the file? I will attach the general.opt file as well if this can help solve my problem.

I generally i would ask you:

- to test it with disabled Windows UAC (as you use Win7), please

- is there a chance that your Antivirus program blocks you to create files?
its known if the AV tests all files and you pr-cache the game, it takes that long, you might want to create an exception for AIE

Also, try to install in other location than C:\ProgramFiles

Thank you for helping me, unfortunatlely after making the changes you suggested the problem remains . I have attached the entire mainlog file in case that may help. Also, the start-up issue I mentioned it occurs before the splash screen appears, I was reading the manual for 20 minutes before the screen appeared I actually thought the game wasnt working. Has anyone else reported a similar problem? I started the game with pre-caching off and the memory options at the lowest and I get the same results by the way.

I reinstalled to the default directory(c/games/alea jacta est) and now it works!!! strange that was the reason but whatever...now if I can solve the long startup issue...but at least I can play!
