The hope of a GREAT!!! Civil War game caused me to purchase AACW last thursday morning having broken a vow I made to myself never to buy another game on release. I must say you have not disappointed! I find AACW to be everything I thought and hoped it would be.

Yeah, you know? I, too, made up my mind never to buy another game within 30 or so days of its publication. I have had too much frustration over games that suffer from major flaws and need patch after patch to make them playable.
So, there I was, looking through the AACW screenshots ... next thing you know, my credit card is in my hand, and I am tapping it on the edge of the desk. Sure enough, a few minutes later, it's "Damn the torpedoes," and I'm downloading this sucker.
Glad I did. It's the greatest.
I am still skeptical of everybody else, but AGEOD has proven to me once again that this is a designer-developer-publisher you can believe in.
Did I mention that Pocus does a fairly good job of customer support?

That's my fault... When I designed the forum ranks I had no clue about how much active this forum could be. So I made a rank every 5 posts. Pretty generous...
So be ready to be downgraded when I'll have more perspective to reajust the ranks...

Bringing this post back towards the topic..
I feel as if I've jumped at this game rather quickly too. It usually takes me a couple of weeks to get around to purchasing a game.
With this game I thought, damn, it is out today, it is likely going to be very good, and it is made by grognards and real graphic artists. I should get it right now!! I couldn't see any reason to not go for the download right away.
I'd do the same if MMG came out with another game.
I am all for supporting companies that are making my kind of game, as they seem to be few and far between and are producing for a limited niche market. Luckily, most of us grognards are cashed up enough to afford a new game, if they can sneak it past "she-who-must-be-obeyed". The price wasn't even that dear, maybe because of the rise in the Aussie dollar.
So, I think the difference is between making a decision on purchasing a game you think you may like to a game you "know" you will like.

When I hit 100 posts, I went from "lieutenant general" to "major general."
DUDE! a lieutenant general outranks a major general. "Major generals" are so named because they outrank brigadiers and can command larger formations than a brigade. "Lieutenant generals" are called that because they are the immediate subordinates, or "lieutenants," to a full general (yes, I know what a gross oversimplification this is, but I'm trying to have fun at Korrigan's expense, okay?).

"if a Major outranks an LT, why does a LT General outrank a Maj General"
Answer: (per AFN) IIRC it all started with some old british Oliver Cromwell dude, who created the ranks of...
Brigadier General, Sergeant Major General, LT General, Captain General.
Later the Sergeant and Captain were dropped.

A-FARTS didn't know nothin', but this is marginally accurate, although it dates back farther than Cromwell's time.
