AJE Strategic Maps

Sat Sep 01, 2012 10:12 pm

Hi everyone,

Attached to this post you may find hi-res strategic maps (~6100 x 4100 pixels) for AJE scenarios. Maps are intended for two general purposes:

  1. To provide new players easy to read maps with information about important military and economic resources, strategic locations, cities and their size, locations of various structures (depots, major forts, major harbors...).
  2. To facilitate planning of operations and AAR writing.

This is a small sample of whole Septimius Severus, 193 AD scenario map:

NOTE: Legend is in upper right corner of each attached map.

Please send me a PM if you notice any misspelling(s) or error(s) and I will correct them.

Best,
Emir

EDIT 2: Added map for The Year of the Four Emperors, 68AD scenario (v1.00)
EDIT 3: Updated map for Caesar vs Pompey, 50BC scenario (V1.01)
EDIT 4: Added map for The Great Mithridatic War, 72 BC scenario (v 1.00)

Thanks for another great map! In addition to being a great resource, your maps for AJE are building excitement for the upcoming release (at least for me).

I have just added map for The Year of the Four Emperors, 68AD scenario. Also, Caesar vs Pompey map is updated to 1.01. From now on, I will post all maps in this thread. Three more maps to be done before release.

You should change the thread title.

Very useful! Even more useful for scenario design would be a map that showed all the region names.
It would save a lot of time.

Cheers,
Chris

EDIT: I assume this might not be possible as it would probably require higher zoom for the region names to be visible. :(

Thank you all for support. I'm really glad to see that players find these kind of maps useful.

Yes, I would like to do that, but it seems I don't have permission to change it. I've informed admin and I hope he will find time to do it.

You have right. Also, adding region names manually would require a lot of additional work. BTW, there is in-game color overlay for different regions which is useful if you want to get instant information about regions during gameplay. However, I'm not sure how useful this overlay is for scenario designers.

But, this post must be done sticky and the title changed to reflect that there are all the maps. Work for the moderators? ;)

I have just added last two AJE maps: Marius vs Sulla, 87 BC and Spartacus Revolt, 73 BC. As there is a limit of maximum five attached files in one post, I cannot attach Spartacus Revolt directly to the first post of this thread. Instead you may find it attached to this post.

So nice!!! The only problem is I own BOR and not AJE! :( Is this project planned for BOR to?

@Developers: This kind of info should be in-game by default! Here's to hoping you get it "right" in your nexx AJE installment! :)
