Scale and OOB

Tue Apr 17, 2007 11:27 am

I am the type of guy who really likes to understand my OOB graphically. I think that AACW does a great job in helping me understand the makeup of my divisions, cores and armies. Where I get a little confused is the levels of org below division.

When I select a division, it's brigades pop up to the left and just above the unit screen, which is cool (it would be cooler if they were selectable)...at the same time the batallions (elements), etc of the division pop up in the elements box off to the right. There is really no way to understand the relationship of which batallions are in which brigades..there is no way to select the brigade icon and see which batallions are in it, and the list of elements is just a gross list with no parent brigade mentioned in the listing or in the detail unit screen that pops up upon selection to teh far right of the interface.

Does this make any sense to anyone, as I have described it?

Great game, by the way, truly a work of art.

Actually this is quite true, finding a good system to show that would be neat...

I agree,
In no way its a game breaker, but i would also like to look inside my brigades and know which element belong to which brigade.

Maybe if the brigades pop-up could be fixed om screen with some key combination and then you could click in them to see the elements inside
Can it be done??

I know what your saying and it correct. But, you can always disband your division and then look at the brigades to see its elements and reform the division at no penalty.
It would be good to improve this as you will have to start rotating units in/out of divisions to rest and recover men/cohesion while the rest carry-on the fighting.

Btw, am having great time with my first July 1861 campaign as Union (Turn 20).

Currently, it's the best solution.
It will maybe not be changed soon because there are other improvement priorities I think.
