Another Prussia question. Or a few questions about Playing Prussia...

Fri Aug 24, 2012 4:10 am

1. Do I HAVE to get the Nikolsburg even for the NGF to fire? I have had the 2 Hessians, Saxony, and Hannover over 60+ relations for a long time now and I have not have the NGF fire. I fought the Austrians, took all the required regions and I won the war, but no Nikolsburg event. Maybe I waited too long?

2. Brandenburg (Berlin region) has militancy going up at an alarming rate. All the rest even newly conquered Holstein and Schleswig are really low, most below 5 and the two Danish below 10. But Brandenburg is up in the 80s now.

3. How do I get supply to The New Guinea/Solomons area? Just by having the trade vessels in the maritime area for that region?

4. If I don't get the NGF, and I fight France in 1870, will full Germany event fire?

5. Holstein is still listed as a country I can have diplomatic relations with. That seems weird since they are part of Prussia.

6. When I fought Austria and then signed a peace, all 3 of the regions I conquered and then gave up on the peace, are still listed in my list of regions. Seems weird.

Thanks :)

1. No. According to the event files these events should have fired (after 1860)

Code: Select all

  EvalEvent = evt_nam_GER_Hannover_UnificationOK;=;1
  EvalEvent = evt_nam_GER_Sachsen_UnificationOK;=;1
  EvalEvent = evt_nam_GER_Hessen-Kassel_UnificationOK;=;1
  EvalEvent = evt_nam_GER_Hessen-Damrstadt_UnificationOK;=;1

So I guess you need to play unification actions in these states and then wait for the event to fire when ready.

2. Are you at war with someone for a lot of time now? How is NM? Have you passed social changes? Do you sell enough stuff to your population? Is everyone in Berlin working (low unemployment)?

3. Yes. Trade vessels or transport ships but the latter may suffer normal attrition if left for long.

4. No. NGF is a prerequisite for full GER to form.

5. Absorbed (this is the technical term) nations do not disappear from the game and the diplomacy screen. But you shouldn't care about them anymore.

6. Yes, it is weird. Which are these regions? Do you have claims, loyalty, etc on them?

Always run the latest stable version of the game, that is the v1.03 after 13th of August. Anything else, we are here! :)

Thanks for replies.

1. I finally became unified without the Nikolsburg event. I say finally but in reality it was 1867 which is a fairly normal time for it.

2. Not at war. NM is 100 or above (it was above for awhile after fighting Austria, but it is back to 100 now). Not sure about Social changes, but I have been doing some stuff. I am getting .36-.40 now in population contentment increase now. I'll check on unemployment. That could be it, I suppose.

3. Ok, thanks.

4. Ok, thanks. I got the NGF formation, so I'm set for 1870, I suppose and the coming war with France.

5. Ok, thanks. When I got the NGF event it said Holstein was annexed, so I'm expecting them to drop off the diplomacy screen.

6. I have a claim on one of the now, that I get a Casus Belli for. I haven't checked in awhile so they may not be listed anymore.

I should note, I started this game under 1.03. So, that is something to think about. Things are going pretty good right now except for the little minor annoyances. I realized that some of my national decisions reduce militancy so I'll start playing them on Brandenburg and see if that helps. They aren't rioting so I'm good in that sense.
