Which artillery?

Wed Jul 18, 2012 11:58 pm

Playing as the CSA, after building a fort on a river, which artillery is best to buy for its garrison if I don't want to pay the big $ for coastal artillery?
Thanks.

I would bet for Columbiad or 12lb cannons.

Being that the fort is on the river, I would put a Columbiad in the fort as it is more effective than the 10, 12, or 20 pounders at bombarding ships.

Not to be the wet blanket of the party, but I hope you've taken the Double-Adjacency-Rule into account before building the fort. Here's a short illustration and description of the DAR.
