Problems 1884 with quickfix 1.02b

Fri Apr 06, 2012 3:51 am

First thing is that all victory-regions get loyalty for Turks, Chinese and Rebells, all other regions are 100% Prussian(that problem was not with 1.02 in my game 1881), that not only my regions, Washington and all other victory regions had the same problem.

The game is to easy if you first get regions with gold and/or gems, you get many money with 2-3 regions(Burma and Kumasi), better is that you need protection status to build structures in that regions to prevent that?

In a war you can easy destroy enemy structures, that is a hard hit to the enemy economy, France do not restore the economy in over 10 years, but that is not the problem that I destroy the structures. The AI build in a confuse way, some times they want first build railroads but the economy is not strong enough(no coal, no steel) so they need luck to get it from other nations. So it is no Problem to produce more than other Nations and that help to blow up the Army(in my game I short before had a army so strong to bet all other nations in a war).

With combination from that 2 points you can research all techs and had many money over(see my save), the only challenge is to find something to do between waiting times and not run off some resources.

One decision you can do every turn(better educational system?) for 500 money, with gold and gems it is no Problem. Now all Regions had 100% Happiness and 0% Militancy.

See fights are a small problem, only Austria makes a landing operation 1866 at Hamburg, but I see no warship, they all “protect” the merchant fleets. I Win 2 fights and get one time a merchant ship, I think that could a problem if you force that and get many more merchant ships you can build. I Think it is better to get some gods as prize and burn down the ships. The ships now in a bad condition, but they don’t sink in a trading area and get reinforcement.

If you research fuel tractor around 1880 I think that farms should use 50% coal and 50% oil(with a upgrade?), that help with the coal shortness and the problem that oil is only need for population at that time

I have just had a look at your 1884 file, and wow, you have taken over all of belgium, bits of holland and parts of france. I know you say the game is easy, you are probably right, but you have done well in all honesty. The reason the game is easy is because while you, the player, is rapidly taking land and declaring war and expanding colonies, the AI sits around doing nothing and building random structures that are of little benefit to them. I agree with you that you should have to have protectorate status to build in a colonial region, because you have taken advantage of a huge blackhole in the system by declaring war on Asante and Burma to take the gold and gems regions, but i presume you have done this since near the start of the game, so whilst you couldn't colonise you could still take regions and hold them for yourself, pretty clever i'd say...

although I imagine you started this game on a much earlier patch where the AI was stupid, a clean install plus the 1.02 patch with the hotfix is a really good game now. If you start one with the patch on it runs and works really well, the computer actually does things now :P

I start it with 1.02 and install 1.02b in 1881, first war against france i start 1870(i had that save and it is 2 weeks old), against belgium a little later(i need the coal regions) and same with holland.
With the game i start with 1.00 it was a big Problem to hold Kumasi(UK get it after Win a crisis, 1.02 i win the crisis without problems) and all coast-regions of burma was british.

But the US AI make a good game(but can not build a large army) its the only nation sell coal, mechanical parts and steel and many other rhings i need.

Oh right, well then i think you have done even better than i originally said :P i decided to re-install the 1.02 patch because the hotfix causes the loyalty problem, works a lot better now except for the diplomatic layout is messed up again.

By the way, i was wondering, do you have extended military unit pools on?
