IMO, this game was *made* for a WW1 game (I know there's WW1-Gold out there, but it's not a real AGEOD game in my book, and was really, really buggy the last time I played it).
There's the added advantage that a lot of the leader files that would be needed already exist in PON.
The biggest issue would be the map, but that's true of any game you would be looking to make, I suppose.
I actually think this engine, especially PON, would be pretty decent for a medieval type of game as well, but that would be a pretty massive undertaking and change of concept.
