siberian white in revolution under siege scenario

Mon Aug 29, 2011 8:42 pm

Are the siberian whites really that underpowered in this scenario? the czechs are fixed garisson units and commies have 239 % relative strengh at the start.Any ideas because I tried to go for symbirsk, kazan and samara but the commies are to good at kicking me.The samarkand and southern area is a nest full of greens and the irkuts region is a one man show with the wild division. the japs dont get unlocked even when attacked by commies, the british are poor, the us just gives me tanks 5000 miles away, french just a plane and an officer. how can you possibly take moscow with this bunch of losers?Or do you play defencive?

thanks for the tip
(I used to be good at ROP but RUS is very different)

What scen are you playing? That doesn't sound anything like my grand campaign experience playing with the Sibs, vanilla version or Fatal Years mod.

If you liked ROP, you will love RUS with experience.
Some variations, but just settle in an look around. Do not try to take on the whole Red army at first. Clear your back while you make some gains.
For instance, clear Smarkand. You have the units to do this.

...and sorry for not realizing that the answer to my question was in the thread title already. Doh!

Anyhow, I highly recommend grand campaign with Fatal Years mod.

Its not badly balanced I was just too gunho about it.I took all my eastern forces and sent them to the volga because I though the other theaters could be solved by the brits (hahahahaha). Now I followed the advice solving the southeast by keeping the forces there and stalling the red army on the volga around samara.playing super defensive because they have 1000 power stacks up there. encircling and then defending to death not attacking. For some reason it payed off. One big 1000 stack stomped out of samara smashing my 350 pwer stack but was then cut off and had to fight its way back to the other side of the volga and I stopped his advance and then he disolved slowly.

You really have to keep your NM over 100 so you can used the special ops to solve the green problem in the long term.Astrakan still was a pain for a long time now I am scared to leave the area even with 75% loyalty.the fear of a revolt 120 days train away is numbing. Nvertheless for some reason the commies have good victory points 2900 and I have 1400 souther whites 1900 but the morale of the commies for some reason has dropped to 13. Still I cant kick them around they have A CP of 290 % and the s white 230% and i am chronically out of money and manpower.nevertheless its fun and a better player would probably find it a pushover scenario.
