Corps with no CP cost in Civil War DLC

Both the Union and the Confederacy have a number of corps that have a command point cost of zero. All of these corp start out with attached leaders, and start out attached to an army.

There are other corps, not attached to an army, that have a command point cost of 12, which is normal.

If you detach one of the zero cp cost corps from its army, the cost remains at zero.

Is this by design, or a bug?

cant confirm that for my Union corps...

i have finished the ACW (from a GC, not DLC) and i think i still have all troops from event of civil war and from partial mobilization.

all corps have 12 com.points.

are you certain that you are dealing with corps?

some fixed units have no com-points, like the small army in the Shenandoah valley...

Yes, this is a known issue. The problem occurs when a leader is attached to a unit at the start of a scenario. For whatever reason, doing this causes the corps to be ignored when it comes to CP.

However, quick fix is to detach the leader, then you can re-attach and have proper CP. This effecively solves the CP issue.

I suppose you would have to do it for both sides then, which would involve reloading and switching sides a couple of times. But this is doable.

I think this problem is only with the DLC, as McNaughton mentioned below.

This actually happens in all situations and scenarios. You do not have to switch sides, unless it is a PBEM (even here just state a rule that you will each do this), given that the AI always removes leaders from attached forces anyway.
