glitches and hiccups

Fri Jul 29, 2011 12:38 am

First off I love this game but...
There are some very annoying glitches that make it less than fun sometimes.
My particular frustration this week is that Burma is becoming a serious annoyance and I can't get rid of them.

1.) I am playing as England (Yeah, I know easy-peasy) and am in a conflict with Burma...they declared war on me...ok...I kick the beejeesus out of them and propose a peace treaty- which they accept but they are still at war with me even though I am not at war with them...cripes. So my army pulls back to Rangoon and they continue attacking...what gives? Anyone??

2.) Repacements - where did this come from? One minute all is well and then - quite literally- I am in a HUGE deficit with replacements across the board....Navy, Army, etc...
And while I am at it how do I replace commercial clippers, etc... I can replace everyone else but not them??

1) I'd guess the war not ending has something to do with it being a scripted event. In my game I neither started, nor agreed to a treaty to end my 1st war with Burma. It just ended on it's own after a while and I was given some of the territories.

I didn't even realize for a few turns, couldn't figure out why my attacking armies weren't actually, you know, attacking.

Of course now that the entire area is conquered, garrisoned, fortified and railroaded, I just need to wait 25 years or so for my war score to climb so they'll finally surrender properly lol.

2) I believe commercial fleet replenishments are automatic per/turn at a rate based on how many active shipyards you have.

1)From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Anglo-Burmese_War

Note this sentence:
He decided that to dictate terms to the Court of Ava by marching to the capital was not how the war should be conducted unless complete annexation of the kingdom was contemplated and this was deemed unachievable in both military and economic terms for the time being.

2) As has been discussed on many threads, you start with a huge need of replacements as many units are only half built at start. Hopefully, this will not be the case when the next patch comes out as it is very confusing.
As long as you have active shipyards, your merchant fleets should receive replacements, though you shouldn't need them unless you are at war with a major power.
