Army running from a fort?

Wed Mar 21, 2007 10:22 am

I started a game of Saratoga as the rebels and was sort of vexed to see my force run from Fort Ticonderoga on the approach of a only slightly larger British force, without having so much as fired a shot. I would have expected my force to hold the fort, as that's what armies in forts are for.

For all I can say, they were in the structure, they had defensive posture and were in good shape - so no order or reason to retreat before a battle. :8o: :p leure:

Any idea why they would? Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks in advance. :)

if they are in the fort, they can't retreat and are either besieged or assaulted. If you see the sprite of the army in the region, even if not selected, then it means they were outside the fort.

Thank you, sir. I will check again (is it possible to reload an old turn?) but I believe they started the scenario inside Fort Tico and I didn't order them out ... human error of course excepted. :innocent:

So you are saying that this can't have happened, provided they were indeed *in* the fort, rather than outside it? Thanks again.

Baring a bug, this should not happen yes. To revert to a previous turn, open the load game window, pass the mouse over your game and then hit the key described in the tooltip ('origin' in french).
