And if you rent a room in 'The Inn at Lincoln square', you may enjoy the disputable honor of sharing the same bed as myself, although admittedly with a time shift of 3 years. ;) Luckily. For the both of us. :neener:

PBEM and final patch

Sun Jun 12, 2011 3:56 pm

While waiting for the final official patch I'm getting the itch to start a PBEM using 1.16 RC 4a and my question is, if I begin a game with the public beta can I resume it once we've loaded the final patch or would we have to restart our game?

Regards.

Bug/Issue

Mon Jun 20, 2011 1:57 am

Issue found -

When the event "CSS Alabama commissioned in the Navy" fires (approximately Aug 1862). Semmes is magically returned to 1 anchor (star). I had promoted to a 3 anchor admiral, but the event has just fired, and he is now 1 anchor, but promotable. So there appears to be something in the syntax of the event that doesn't let him keep his old rank, but assigns him to 1 anchor.

I like the suggested fix. If Semmes is in the Atlantic boxes, he's with the CSA Alabama in one turn. If the player has moved him off to the Mississippi, he might could redeploy him, or simply not put the two together.

It's more of an annoyance than a bug at this point. You can promote him back to 3 anchors after he joins the Alabama. Promoting him before means he just has to be re-promoted.

This is only an issue if FI has triggered (since, if you mix ships of different nationalities, you get a command penalty - which can be overcome by admirals). If you don't have FI trigger (or capture some union ships), then it isn't a problem.

Hi
Anyone heard how lodilefty is these days? Been a while now. My 1st concern is his health obviously and my second one is the completion of the current beta. Im sure I speak for evr1 in hoping your health is improving lodilefty and that you get back to gaming soon mate.

Bugs ?

Thu Jun 23, 2011 10:03 pm

1) Please see following thread for a possible issue with merging.

2) It seems there is a change in the way the game engine behaves and I don't know if it's by design :

- I have a force inside a city.

- My opponent move his troop in the region. At the end of the turn I'm besieged but my military control is still well above 5%

- During the order phase I move my troop outside of the city with defense order. Because my MC is greater than 5% my force should keep its defensive posture.

- But when the turn is run, the force switch to attack posture and a fight ensues ?! This was not the case with version 1.15.

I hope there is nothing too serious. Looking at his profile it seems he was active on this forum a few hours ago.

Hi Mickey!

I play with 1.15 patch and what you say regarding to your stack switches to attack posture when you move it outside of the city is something that already happens in 1.15 patch. In fact, I have just check it on a game that I'm playing at the moment and it happens as you say. ;)

You're right, Gray, this makes sense. Therefore I think the best way to defend a region is do it outside of the structures (cities, forts...).

Sorry, I don't know why but I was sure it was not the case with 1.15. :bonk:

Thanks a lot for clarifying the case.

Agree but in this case besieger military control should be raised to 95%.

Fleet in Port not Accessible

Thu Jul 07, 2011 4:10 pm

Clean install of 1.16 RC4a

Fleet in New Orleans is there - note flag - Ironclad just finished - see mail box - clicking on the flag does nothing. Fleet is inaccessible - see save.

Save and image attached.

----> EDIT: restarted game; worked fine.

I have just checked the saved game and it works perfectly, so I agree with Gray. ;)

OK - me thinks I will ...

To be clear, exactly what hotfixes are out there ... is it just the one with the Texas river issues?

Foreign Intervention Bugs

Sun Jul 10, 2011 3:37 pm

Just linking to another thread I stated a week or so ago so that hopefully it doesn't get lost in the mass of material here.

http://www.ageod-forum.com/showthread.php?t=21904 -- there is a saved game in that thread.

It concerns 3 issues - all within the Foreign Intervention event:

  • Mail messages are duplicated
  • Replacements show in the replacement screen but are unusable
  • French Forces remain locked, contrary to the message you get

Richfed, I have just checked your saved game and if I'm not wrong, really, French Forces are not fixed but Mexican Forces. As CSA player you can handle French and British Forces after France and Great Britain declare war on the USA. Mexican Forces will be handle by USA player, once Foreign Intervention is declared.

Greetings! ;)

I very well could be missing something, but Foreign Intervention HAS been declared. French forces in Paris are locked. Regardless, the replacement screen certainly is broken and there are numerous redundant messages in the mail box. I hope the team takes a look at this before an official patch is declared.

Certainly, replacements for French and British Forces don't work. However, British Land Forces and Navy in Great Britain are not locked just as French Navy in Paris. French and British Navies in the Caribbean Sea are also unlocked. I don't know very well how Foreign Intervention works because I have never received it, so I'm not sure that it is a bug.

PS: Heck! The British Navy is fearsome!! :w00t:

Does someone know something new about the official release of the 1.16 patch?

PS: I hope that Lodilefty has recovered fully. Cheers! :)

Blind Sniper,

The coordinator for the patch update, Gray Lensman, posted a while back that the final official patch may not be released, but that the current version is stable and playable and should suffice.

But I am going from memory as Gray has deleted his posts to this portion of the forum.

I've played the latest release and would recommend it, but don't hold your breath that we will see the final 1.16 anytime soon.

Regards
