What is "Co Agree" ?

Sun Jun 19, 2011 11:44 pm

In the diplomacy window, when we propose a treaty, sometimes a small text window appears on the right side of the screen, with "Co Agree" written. (see pic)
No tooltip exists. No mention in the manual.

What does it mean ?

I believe it's supposed to mean co-agree, as in both sides agree.
English isn't the developers first language one can tell :)
But then who am I to talk, it's not mine, either...
But I did learn it from the age of 4 so I've probably got a bit of a head start :)

It used to be called Trade Treaty before (which is also one of the bugs I need to fix for next version), that could be a nice (and short) alternative too ;)

OK, Co Agree means Commercial Agreement.

But what is it for?

Tooltipp says: Doubling the chance to succeed when transactions happens between you and them.

What is my benefit? And when could I get it? On the international market? In colonial market?

This is used for selling and buying merchandises with the partner...it's what we used to call 'Trade Treaty' before :)

Sorry that I am a bit silly maybe. I understand Trade Treaty and Commercial Agreement as synonym terms. No problem. But what is my benefit?

I have a Commercial Agreement with Austria right now. Did I receive some goods automatically? Should I go to the F9 screen? Where could I see any changes in capital or goods?

There is nothing to see directly...a trade agreement improves your "chances" during commerce, i.e. that Austria buys your goods preferrably to those of others, and that you get preference when purchasing something from Austria...in other words, it gives you an edge while you are competing on markets with other nations....

So:

* if you are the sole trader / purchaser, the agreement is not really useful (except that it improves diplomatic relations over time)

* if there are many buyers for the same good(s) and/or many sellers of same, then you get the edge...
