I think this is the decay of all the piles when they reach a certain level. Like the goods, when they reach a stockpile of 100, lose some elements due to corruption. For what I've seen, the decay for money is when you have more than 2000.

What is the message you are receiving when your money is decaying?

It is true that you will lose some capital from corruption if you have a whole lot stockpiled. But more commonly there could be a variety of things that are making your capital stock decrease. One way to figure it out is the f4 screen. Hover over the various lines in the capital column and you will see some calculations about what is happening.

And be sure to set the sliders to a reasonable estimate of your successful international sales and purchases. I normally estimate 75% for purchases and 50% for sales (and this might be a little optimistic).

Talleyrand is right... this is akin to corruption indeed. But we want to improve on the idea and give a small bonus from business emergence.
