Les 3 textes des didacticiels sont enfin finis!
Mon but prochain est d'améliorer le texte de l'interface, pas forcément très cohérent, et parfois illisible car débordant des fenêtres. C'est ce que j'avais commencé à bien entamer dans mon fichier _AGE édité (mais peut être buggé).

Pour le fichier _AGE.csv, impossible de l'enregistrer avec mon Excel 2000:
Rien que réenregistrer le fichier _AGE.csv original du 1.01a, en csv sans le modifier, ça lui rajoute pourtant environ 30Ko,
puis réintégré dans RUS il efface tous les textes d'accueil et on est obligé de tuer RUS en CtrlAltSuppr.
Du coup, PSPad (ou WordPad??) a l'air plus fiable pour le fichier _AVE.csv...

Le fichier AGE ne doit pas être modifié, il y a des corrélations complexes avec le moteur... ma suggestion est d'envoyer vos modifications pour qu'elles soient intégrées par le développeur....

Ou bien voir si celui-ci peut vous passer une version tempo pour que vous saisissiez vos corrections (bien identifées par des couleur) et c'est lui qui les modifiera.

Le soucis est que le fichier AGE est commun à tous les jeux, dont une phrase peu appropriée dans AGE strings n'est forcément une erreur. Il y a donc peut de chance que le développeur principal accepte vos modifs.

Ce qu'il faut faire est un 'override' dans RUS strings, c'est à dire que vous reprenez les lignes qui vous semblent erronées, les reportez dans RUS strings pour les redéfinissez.

Mais l'override ne fonctionne pas (en français; pas testé en anglais):
par exemple pour MapFilter1Hint, ligne 31 du _RED (infobulle filtre carte, 1er bouton au dessus de la minimap).

Je me demande s'il ne faudrait pas reprendre le tout 1er fichier LocalStrings_RED, en XLS, de RUS 1.00, lui réintégrer les corrections, et faire bien attention à le convertir en bon CSV pour trouver une version 1.01a nickel... (J'espère qu'il ne faudra pas en arriver là)

En tout cas, par la suite, j'hésite à toucher à des fichiers CSV, je préfère que vous m'envoyiez l'XLS des derniers patchs (les _RED voire _AGE), que j'y fasse mes modifs puis que vous fassiez vous-même la conversion en csv... Ca devrait être plus sûr. Les csv me semblent maintenant douteux pour y travailler directement dessus.

A propos de l'obligation non dite du 96dpi, ce pourquoi en fait j'ai commencé mon "Amélioration de la traduction":

Mais au lieu de vous adapter à ce fait de diversité, vous avez choisi de développer le jeu pour les 96dpi uniquement. Il suffisait de l'indiquer dans la configuration conseillée (plutôt minimale pour moi).

Oui, parceque les autres n'ont pas ce problème (que je découvre), les jeux AGE étant les seuls à l'avoir.

Donc évaluer un produit sur un critère aussi restrictif et personnel est un choix personnel mais ne peut en aucun cas être considéré comme un élément factuel probant...

L'évaluation du consommateur est forcément personnelle.
Ce qui est probant pour mon avis est que le jeu marche mal sur mon pc.

Non, faites une recherche sur votre forum. Par contre je suis le seul à avoir développé le problème.

AGEOD met d'ailleurs à la disposition des utilisateurs une démo qui est en tout point techniquement conforme au jeu, ce qui permet d'évaluer si elle sera conforme à la configuration de chacun. Cela permet à tout un chacun de se faire une idée gratuitement sur le produit.

Oui, mais une démo n'est pas le produit fini, et les imperfections diverses de son interface apparaissent comme des bugs qui seront très facilement corrigés dans le jeu puisque ça semble juste un problème de polices ou de texte qui déborde ou est coupé.

You're very right, Seprus is a wise. But Pocus wanted to fight; I'm always ready on a forum if it comes from someone with more power (modo, etc). Being banned if imposed by wrong arguing can be a funny personnal loss (but a strategical victory).

Banning is, of course, an option, and I'll do what I need to do, though I absolutely *hate* it. I think I maybe have banned one or two regular members (i.e. non-spammers) during my time as an admin here, and I'm not looking for more heads to put on my "admin trophy wall". As I am sure you are aware, AGEOD is a very small developer, with a very finite limitation on what they can devote time to in the development of their games. RUS even more so, as it has been developed by AGEOD affiliates. I'm sure that game developers would like to ship games that work perfectly for each and every person who encounters them in some way; I know AGEOD would like this, but in the real world, this is impossible. Every game developer needs to prioritize, small developers especially, and AGEOD has informed you that there is no way they will be able to take resources from other areas to address this. I understand your frustration, truly, I do, but such are the facts of reality.

AGEOD has always recommended that people install and test the demos of their games before buying them, with the exact intent of avoiding issues such as the one you have faced, where an obscure mismatch renders the game unplayable for a given customer. I say obscure, because in all the time I've been here, I've hardly heard of anyone having dpi problems, no-one to the degree that they haven't been able to play the game and, as I am sure you won't be surprised to hear, no-one has made such a issue out of it as you have.

I am wondering; by refusing to accept the answers you have received and let the issue rest, what is it you hope to accomplish? If I understood better your motivation here, we might be able to make some progress towards something, rather than steer towards the nearest brick wall.

Again, you are the first person to raise this issue like this, so your portrayal of AGEOD's motivations here is waaaay off. As is your interpretation of what I wrote, but again, I'm sorry you didn't take it that way.

Yes, I refuse disrespectfull answers to me*, such as distort what I says (I don't think I attacked devs or historians of the game) or treating me like a child.
I didn't want to take that as a nasty game as I expected better answers from modos: If someone want to play with me, play with the same rules than me, not with your advantages, as I may be better than you in bashing and, hurt, you should revenge easily. I like those bad games on forum (that's why I'm ok to battle with modo if there is not too much low quicks...)

I understand that my appreciation of the game can be seen as an insult for some, but that was not the goal.
For a game, being able to play it with pleasure is important. But trying to play with makes me some sad, then angry for a time when I understood why, for it is not pleasant for me for what you know.
However, for other thing that being a game, I like RUS much (like the challenge it is to make this game). For me it is a ramarkable damaged thing I won't use.
About the 40€, I want Ageod to keep them, as I hope someday it will help the AGE engine to use the 120dpi. Alas not for RUS.

Seeing as you are a forum member and I am forum admin, there has been no point in this discussion where "same rules" have applied. I have a responsibility for stopping people from using these forums as their personal soapbox for rants and tirades that serve no other purpose than to drown out other, more fruitful discussions. This discussion is quickly moving towards this category.

J'ai une idée (quand je pourrais l'essayer de retour chez moi):
Je vais lancer RUS en 1024x768 fullscreen sur mon 1280x1024 (donc avec des bandes noires en haut et en bas), avec mon fichier adapté aux polices 120ppp: Ca devrait agrandir un peu l'affichage des caractères. Mais même si ça marche, il faut que je voie si c'est agréable de jouer à RUS en 1024 (voir si c'est pas trop petit pour les données de RUS, même s'il est dit que c'est la réso minimale pour le jeu).
Avec de plus un affichage moins net car n'étant pas la réso native; en tout cas je le fait pour UFO:Aftershock qui est uniquement en 1024 (mais n'a pas de pb de dpi), et la baisse de netteté n'y est pas désagréable.

Il n'y a pas de bandes noires (bizare), et la taille d'écriture devient correcte.
J'ai essayé de pousser en arrondissant à l'inférieur l'adaptation 96->120dpi, mais apparemment les polices 96dpi sont déjà réglées au minimum (pour le jeu normal sur de grands écrans, des écrans normaux diront certains) car en baissant juste de 1 mes polices RUS 120dpi, mon affichage de RUS en 1024 passe de correct (sans plus) à désagréable (mais pas pire qu'en 1280).
Donc, le bon fichier Font.ini pour le 120dpi est bien celui arrondi à l'entier supérieur.
Je disais "C'est mieux", mais beaucoup de textes restent coupés dans des fenêtres (en arr. inférieur aussi). Donc, comme je découvre qu'en 1024 ça devient lisible sans se bousiller les yeux, je rajoute encore 1/2 point à RUS: 2/5. J'espère trouver de quoi l'amener à une note qu'il serait en droit de mériter...:
. Il faut que je teste si en 1024 RUS est jouable (ça le semble)
. Espérer que des textes soient raccourcis... (à peu près tous ceux que j'ai déjà signalés)
. Il manque des traductions (que j'ai indiquées dans le thread clos adéquat)
. Le manuel du jeu n'est pas assez newby-friendly (andatiep en faisant sa traduc devrait le corriger?).

Je réouvrirai un thread au sujet de ces pb d'interface, adapté à ce 120dpi qui parait jouable.

Encore une idée:
J'ai testé en remettant le fichier normal 96dpi du jeu, et en changeant le dpi de mon pc de 120 à 96 (j'ai redémarré mon pc comme demandé). J'ai laissé la résolution 1024x768 dans l'utilitaire de config' de RUS.
RUS est peu mieux, il y a moins de texte coupé.

Je pense qu'il faudrait un nouveau critère dans l'utilitaire de config': L'autorisation de changement du dpi vers 96 par RUS.
Je pense qu'il devrait être possible de changer le dpi par RUS (vers 96) et sans devoir redémarrer le pc (Bien sûr il faudrait que RUS remette le dpi d'origine avant de quitter.)

J'ai cherché s'il existait une variable dpi interne à windows, qui pourrait être changée par un autre programme que microsoft.
Pour l'instant, je n'ai trouvé que ça comme piste:

Le fr14.5 ne devrait pas être compatible avec le patch 1.02b (qui est toujours en version fr12).
J'ai cru comprendre qu'il pourrait y avoir une évolution du fichier _AGE de RUS pour la sortie de PoN, donc je vais attendre, comme l'_AGE sabote les traductions.
