I've always liked this one for the navy, though I don't know if it's period since my Russian is limited to about five words :(

Edit: looking more into it I find that it was composed for the movie "Hunt For Red October". Ah well. Still a nice piece of music. Still under copyright though...

Very good indeed, it also sounds like Balkan music, tunes of Goran Bregoviç.
