Engage button freezes

Thu May 20, 2010 4:11 pm

I installed the beta patch this morning, but this has happened before the patch even. This has happened with my laptop running Vista and also my desktop running XP. Totally different machines in every way.

When I set up my troops and go to click the Engage button for battle, it's not available. It's grayed out so to speak. However, if I choose the auto function in the bottom left then the battle plays out automatically just fine.

Both times I clicked the auto option it left my troops designation the same as I had put them. However when I hover the mouse over the Engage button it tells me that I have not committed properly, but I have. I've used this battle menu hundreds of times through the years so I'm no dummy to it. Well, maybe a dummy but not with the battle menu. :mdr:

Attached is the saved picture with the tooltip showing the commitment being wrong.

This is not a bug :)

Notice how the right half of the battle screen misses the red crosses it usually has?

That means the right-side sub-battle is also active, because this is a major battle (4 units per side at start). You have to commit troops to both sides for at least the first round

Oh my gosh, I can't believe I did not even see that. Well, I am a dummy when it comes to the battle screen. I have never had that option before that I can remember.

Wow, I feel stupid. :bonk:

That battle menu with both sides open came up again. It's nice how well that works when you have your head pulled out of your butt. Gosh... :bonk:
