WIndows 7 (64) Help

Sat Apr 24, 2010 5:35 pm

Hello there everyone!

Recently had to purchase a new computer and it came with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. I have an i5 processor with an NVIDIA GeForce 310M graphics card, with of course Directx11. I enjoy playing AACW & WWI and am at a loss that I can't get my fix with the new system. Hate when microsoft does this!!!! I know enough about computers to make me dangerous, but not an expert with advanced controls.

Ok, on to the problem. I am able to load WWI and the latest patch. I've disabled the intro, UAC, applied XP compatibility settings and run as administrator. The games loads to a point where it says "initializing game" with a black screen and never advances from there. I've tried all sorts of compatibilty settings with the same results. Also removed and reloaded game directly under c: drive. Every so many loads it will get to the main menu and selections won't execute.

If anyone out there can help, I'm open to all advice! Thanks guys/gals!

Ed

try playing it without xp compatability on?
I have a 64b Vista system, and it runs the game. It runs a little sluggishly without compatability mode, but I could never get it to work with XP compatability mode.

Tried both suggestions and still no dice. Downloaded windows virtual PC and tried to run it in XP mode with the same result.

Odd that I can run old V4Victory games via DOSbx 0.73! So far this is the only game I've had problems with so far.

Very open to every suggestion you all have. While I can play on my home XP system, I take this one when I travel with the military. Thanks for the recomendations so far, they are appreciated!
