I agree that a continued push on Paris is worth the risk at this point. However, I have seen the "empty" front before-can't count on that. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
The ai is noticeably sharper now. One very big improvement is in how it "knows" when to break off an attack-or to retreat. It is not suicidal as it once was.
Thanks for the comment on the Schlieffen Plan execution. In the old game I did run it through the first three months many times until I could achieve historical or better results. I knew there must be a way-and I found it. There are still many variables that can stall the plan-like in this attempt. although this time was not bad, the 1st and 2nd Armies could have been a province or two deeper into France. Its sort of irritating
to have the 3rd and 4th Armies do too well, it drags you right into the middle of French reserves. Such goes the winds of war.
We shall see. I have not made any test runs with gold other than through the opening moves (early August). Each step is a new experience.
About the map-it is much improved IMO. On the eastern front I know right where I am at all the time without having to zoom out. The color and contrast are much easier on my eyes.
Great job Calvinus, and btw, I am keeping up with the patches. This aar will reflect the current state of the game.
