1.02 patch question...

Sat Apr 17, 2010 12:33 pm

Hi, I have seen the new 1.02 ROP patch post on the Paradox forums, is it the official 1.02 patch or the RC 1.02, I just thought I would ask before I go installing it, thanks :)

It's official. :w00t:

Only official patches will appear at Paradox, Steam, etc.

..and the only place to find public beta, RC, or Interim Updates will be here [in addition to official, of course ;) ]

Working on it ;)

AFAIK, we are obligated to have official patch at those sites first.
But that is my understanding, and not necessarily the official AGEOD answer.

The official patch will be released everywhere at the same time, we just can't release it before, at Ageod.

1.02, the official one has been sent to the various sites and should appear in a few days. until now every 1.02 that you can grab are still release candidates, but will be save compatible with the official 1.02.

AFAIK, 1.02 is available now at Paradox and Steam :)

edit: ...or maybe I'm not really understanding posts by others

Oh, so the 1.02 patch on Gamersgate is also a RC? I got the impression it was an official patch.

Sorry, I did not knew that Steam released the patch today. So I took the liberty of publishing it at Ageod and on the Paradox/ROP forum (that is only fair hehe...)

Now you should be able to get the official one. The one true patch that will, in the darkness err no...

I don't get it also as the new patch is not listed in the 'news' box on Gamersgate frontpage.

Is the patch downloaded from here compatible with GG version?

Yes they are.
Only Steam game version and patches are not compatible (they add some DRM extra thing), but all the rest are compatible for what i know.

Well it was very difficult as a steam user, everytime i play the game i have to use steam, and that steam is not compatible with the beta patches only official patches.and it doesnt launch the game without steam,i wrote that in paradox forum and no reply, they only made announcement(even its steams problem),so this is a better forum to talk about the game,as i see there are really cute and helpful developers and programmers answering most of the questions, and trying to fix every problem in the game. i fixed the problem but im not happy with not to have answers from paradox forum. so no need to move the forum to paradox forum.we are happy here :)

I can confirm this now, gamersgate version of ROP runs without problems with the patch downloaded from Ageod.
