Minireview gamepex.com 85/100

Wed Mar 17, 2010 5:30 pm

Rise of Prussia proves to be quite an in depth strategy game, a game that veterans of the genre will enjoy immensely. If you are new to the genre though this game can prove quite frustrating at times trying to take in all of the information at hand, persevere though and it can prove to be quite the delight.

85/100

... and he repeats RTS all the time... one after another...

Maybe the RTS acronym changed its meaning and we are not aware of that?
I guess this is old and no longer valid:
Real-time strategy (RTS) games are a genre of computer wargames which do not progress incrementally in turns.

:p apy:

Anyway, apart from that, the review is good... really.

I get the feeling that people really have no clue what RTS actually stands for these days...for that matter, I doubt a majority of people actually know what strategy is anymore. People's ideas of strategy has changed a lot in the past decade or two, and I see a lot of games that are nowhere near a strategic level touted as "Strategy games". For the most part, in the acronym RTS, rarely do any of those terms actually apply, even to games that actually are supposedly R-T, and S, so why not just apply it to any random game you feel like? :)

What struck me, was how utterly confused this reviewer sounded by command points and structure. Either he had no clue how it worked (Possible, it's been an issue for quite a few players) or he simply can't describe anything about it in any kind of legible manner. I know how it works and I came out of that section confused. :bonk:

Let's find a valid explanation for RTS then. :neener:

Please note by the way that this is the same review (and reviewer) that this article

http://myinsidegamer.com/reviews/review-rise-of-prussia/

but posted on a different site. Still, a 85% is a 85% :)
