Franz Sigel

309 USA Franz Sigel ldr_USA_Sigel $Patriot NULL NULL NULL 7 10 1 20 General 1 NULL 3 3 3

Perhaps change from Patriot to recruiting officer? Sigel was heavily supported by the immigrant pop in the northern cities who loved to serve under him... I would suggest Charismatic, but we seem to have alot of charismatic generals at this point. Also may want to raise his political support slightly, as he seemed to be a favorite of Abes.

May want to consider lowering his strategic and offensive ratings 1 point... Defeated in the Valley Campaigns in 1864 by Breckenridge..

Maybe stra/off/def stats of 2/2/2?

Did a good job at Pea Ridge. I'm not wholly familiar with his entire career at the moment. Seems to have been a mediocre division commander, and a poor corps commander. He did have the support of the German immigrants, as you cite. Recruiting Officer might indeed be appropriate. Sigel as far as I know had nothing to do with raising partisan forces, so replace the Patriot trait.

In any case, we need a new line for possible promotion to corps command. Suggest

??? USA Franz Sigel ldr_USA_Sigel2 $Recruiting_Officer NULL NULL NULL 7 10 2 29 General 1 NULL 2 2 2

309 USA Franz Sigel ldr_USA_Sigel $Recruiting_Officer NULL NULL NULL 7 10 1 20 General 1 NULL 3 2 2

Not sure if he should get more VP/Political points as a corps commander.

seemed to be a favorite of lincolns due to the immigrant support...kept getting commands. i think we should raise the pol value from 7... maybe 12? not sure how high a 12 is tho.... if 3.1.1 is avg general ratings, a 12 could be too high or too low.

sigel2 might be better with 3/1/1 or 2...thoughts?

10 POL is a good amount, 20 and your leader is problematic to remove, 50 is catastrophic and 100 (McClellan), you can remove it, but don't be surprised if you lose the war 3 months after that.

I can see knocking Sigel down to average status or 3-1-1 at division and 2-1-1 (worse than average) at corps. The only thing distinguishing him from an average general is his German recruiting ability and his corresponding political value/cost.

29 might be too many political points at corps. 20 for both levels seems plenty, if 20 means 'difficult to remove'.

i think 10 is the pol rating...and 29 seniority... may be mistaken tho.
