Lafayette McLaws

CSA Lafayette McLaws ldr_CSA_McLaws NULL NULL NULL NULL 1 1 1 19 General 1 NULL 3 1 1

This may be overly picky...but it seems like Lafayette McLaws is getting underrated a bit as a division commander. Solid, yet unspectacular would be the description that seems appropriate.

I would suggest 3/2/3.....with the 3 on the defensive being an homage to his work in front of Marye's Heights at Fredricksburg.

Lee was disappointed in McLaws's slow arrival on the battlefield.

Lee was disappointed that McLaws had not attacked more aggressively and caused more harm to Sedgwick's corps, instead of letting him escape across the Rappahannock River.

Longstreet relieved McLaws for the failure of the attack on Fort Sanders, citing inadequate preparations.

12 Slow_Move If the commander, 25% move penalty to the whole stack.

McLaws was one of the divisions defending Marye's Heights and he satisfied Lee with his ferocious defensive performance.

3 Entrencher 10% defense fire bonus and 1 extra protection when the stack is already entrenched.

Hmmm... We can't give Entrencher to every generals that happened to defend a position (defense: 3) and McLaws was mainly flawed with lack of strategic initiative (strat: 3 or 2?). Fort Sanders assault had more to do with a badly lead attack (attack: 1).

So my suggestion would be:

I belive he should at least get Slow_Move then. You can find my reasons up in this thread. For all else, I agree with you.

Did you play the British in BoA? Don't underestimate the power of Strat 3. It's much more painfull than Slow_Move.

Well, I just started it. If that strat 3 means that sometimes he can't move then I agree with you. :niark:
Perhaps somebody should explain this a bit more for all those which don't own BoA but want to help us with Generals data.
Just my two cents
