Industrial Tribe

Sat Aug 29, 2009 3:38 am

While experimenting with Industrialization, I was surprised by the sudden establishment of an iron works in Ft. Smith (an Indian village in Kansas). It answers in the affirmative the question of whether villages can be improved.

It now produces 5 tons of war supplies, enough for a good brigade each turn. Who knows how differently post-war history might have turned out!

Or worse: capture it and use it as their own!

I think that tribe was the first, and only, Indian tribe to make an iron totem pole.

Of course, they'll need a source of iron ore to make their ironworks functional. :)

The iron totem pole was erected Aug 1861, shortly after that screenie was taken by the Swan Creek Chippewas of Smith Kansas. Shunning alcoholism and drugs the tribe put their talents to good use. Making their own iron horses for long distance travelling, either at day or night. Scouts have been seen to patrol in small groups. The iron horses are kept in large stables. The Swan Creek Chippewas were also local leaders in glass blowing, tubing, and preferred their horses to be glinting in the morning sun. A little noisier than a standard horse, the Swan Creek Chippewas relied on speed instead of stealth when chasing prey.

the event gives them +4 war supply, so they already got +1. Was this intentional ?

The event quotes the "base" output, which would to be the amount you would have with 50% loyalty. Since my loyalty is higher than 50%, the tooltip reports the upward adjusted output (also modified by National Morale).

I believe the total formula is:

Output = Base * (50% + loyalty%) * (NM%).

Can anyone confirm?

If this formula is correct, the maximum output for this particular village, with max loyalty and NM would be as high as 12 = 4 * 150% *200%.

It's not NM. It's the percentage multiplier conferred by NM. For example, c.95-c.105 the multiplier is 100%, with the percentage changing 5% for every 10 NM. So if NM is 85 like for the USA at the beginning of the 4/1861, the multiplier is 90%, while at 115 like for the CSA after the Confiscation Act (and others) event fires, the multiplier is 110%. The rest of the formula looks right.
