Has the QuickFix for 1.14 Disappeared?

Sat Jul 18, 2009 11:38 pm

I'm confused - not unusual, really - but in the first post of this thread, it says this:

Additionally, you can apply the QuickFix found in http://www.ageod-forum.com/showthre...066#post152066 which fixes some additional data-related issues not addressed by the main 1.14 patch.

Clicking on that link takes you to the 2nd page of this very thread. Nowhere do I see a link to a QuickFix. Am I missing something? I also searched the forum, but nothing comes up.

Now, my next question, besides "where is it?", is what version number is the latest? I can find references to QuickFix 1a, but I see no description of it. I thought Winder was to be placed back in the game [after being removed in the first "fix"].

The 17 produced at Richmond and 2 at Nashville are normal supplies?? they look like very few.
I woudl suppose Richmond will produce more than a 100 per turn.
Maybe you have mistaken the regular supply (food) with war supplies (which 17 and 2 looks like a good number) used to buy new units??
Even Charlottesville should produce normal supplies (but zero WS).
According to the stockpiled supplies it looks like it will take a while until they starve :bonk:
Cheers!

Yes, I believe you are correct. I must have read the war supplies and not the normal supplies. In any event, it will take many turns to starve the garrisons. I have taken Charlottesville by assault and am now transferring the forces for the assault on Richmond.

For instance, at the moment the other player positively KNOWS if he manages to corner and destroy an HVA (high value asset) he'll positively cause a certain chain of events. If I added randomization such as a 50% chance of a leader showing up elsewhere even though the original event did not fire, it would add some more random non-historic flavor to the game wouldn't it?

Feedback everyone?

Gray,
I would love that, but what about a step further, what about randomizing the appearance of the attached generals to the HVA? For example, Sherman shows up with Grant. If you kill Grant, no Sherman. What about no Sherman if Grant survives? He could have easily have been killed before getting his divisional command (or never been promoted). I would like to see a chance for a general to not show even if the conditions are met (a little more randomization). So if you are going to randomize generals showing up, why not go all the way and randomize their appearance as well (both sides of the coin as it were)?
Remember - The beatings will continue until morale improves.

Should read:
a.) McDowell will remain activated "every" turn that the "Army In Manassas" event is in effect.

My opponent was quite upset to find McDowell inactive after Manassas control was shifted 100% to Union and the Confederate army between him and Washington; well, before 1861 Early Sept.

Gray_Lensman wrote:Sorry about the confusion... I didn't realize Pocus had posted a specific link in the 1st Post... I generally remove (delete) the older QuickFix posts as I progress to the later ones just to keep everyone up to date with the latest one. I'll have to ask him to remove the confusing link. I can't directly control the specific placement of QuickFixes in the main forum since I lack moderator status, so I do the next best thing... I delete my obsolete posts whenever I post a newer one, otherwise over time, you would see quite a few Quickfix links and then really get confused.

Too late for this patch, perhaps, but it might help if you reserved a post spot immediately following Pocus's announcement of the release of a new patch for updates on any and all QuickFixes. This way, it'd all be right there in the vicinity of the download for the patch itself.

Graphic glitch v1.14 pbm game

Sun Jul 19, 2009 3:17 pm

PBM game using v1.14. If you look at generals Sumner and McClellan they are 3* star generals but the icon next to them is showing 2* stars. I never actively promoted these generals to 3* so I assume they were auto promoted at some point during the game. see image attached.

3 Stars or 2 Stars ?

Mon Jul 20, 2009 1:30 am

I have noticed 3star 2star problem also. In my current game 1.14 with first quickfix. McClellan and Sumner are 3star generals on map. Ledger shows them as 2star generals.
I have but some saves with this. If I succeed.

pbm game has finished final save files for both sides attached.

v1.14 QuickFix1a Installer patch (redo) accidental ommision

Tue Jul 21, 2009 9:32 pm

I accidentally left the CSA Foreign Intervention division number rework out of the current QuickFix. Redownload the link below and reapply if you want this specific rework to be active.

Here's the next QuickFix now called 1a since it again corrects the leader dating (semi-corrected in the first QuickFix). It could also be called Half-wittedly corrected depending on how you want to look at it in QuickFix1. :D

Again Note: QuickFix patches are designed to be overlaid over the current comprehensive v1.14 patch and/or over the follow up earlier v1.14 QuickFixes.

Special Note for our multilingual Spanish community members, these v1.14 quickfixes can also be applied before/after your HotFixed v1.14a version that we released to you this morning for your specific CTD issue.

To wit:
Bombardment Button Tooltip reworked to properly describe the Button action and the Button action is:
1.) If the Button is Depressed = Bombardment is selected and the Tooltip states "Your units have orders to bombard any passing ships."
2.) If the Button is NOT Depressed = Bombardment is NOT selected and the Tooltip states "Click to Bombard passing ships with your units."

The structure for Rome, GA located in the Floyd, GA region has been shifted slightly northward.

All 12 lbers reclassified as $famLightArty. (negligible effect in game except to effect a fix for the missing element replacement bug AND some redistribution of replacement costs due to it now being classified a light artillery unit instead of a medium artillery unit.

Total number of allowable CSA divisions increased by 10 if Foreign Intervention occurs. ((specifically equal to 40 for now) was 30).

USA Military Balloons event places the first USA balloon in Washington, D.C. (was with largest military unit). This eliminates an erratic placement problem.

Carl Shurz and accompanying Cavalry unit correctly appear in New York, NY in 1862/04/12 (was 1861/04/12).

John Marmaduke appears in 1862/12/01 and now has the "Cavalryman" ability. (was 1865/03/18)

Bushrod Johnson now correctly appears with the 1862 Generals. Also removed Bushrod Johnson from both the 1861 July and 1861 July w-KY scenarios. (was with the 1861 Generals)

Charles Winder now appears with Thomas J. Jackson on 1862/05/15. (was in the 1861 Generals group)

William Taliaferro now appears with Thomas J. Jackson on 1862/08/09. (was in the 1862 Generals group)

Everyone Enjoy... Feedback appreciated.

Gray, got some more OOB stuff for you from the 1863 campaign:
1. I noticed Barnard Bee was in the game (with Hindman in the West, but he may have been deployed there). He was killed at 1st Bull Run right after his "stone wall" comment.
2. Robert Minty and his brigade show up in Early May, but he already exists in Rosecrans' army.

P.S. I had a battle that featured Hooker dying. I don't know what specific changes were made re: leader deaths, but at least this realism was added.

>> I just remembered. In the 1862 campaign, attacking a KY militia still triggers a KY event even though KY had already been invaded by the CSA in 10/1861.

My experience with the KY option so far is to just treat it as a 'Sitzkrieg' situation. I haven't built the token or anything, I just wait for Oct 61, basically. Actually pretty authentic that way; both sides have a huge buffer in the middle of everything and have to wait on events.

For a July 61 start, it's only six turns, really. April 61 - well, you're locked down and otherwise restricted for a while, anyway, so...
"Liberty and Union, now and forever, one and inseparable!"
-Daniel Webster

"C'mon, boys, we got the damn Yankees on the run!"
-General Joseph Wheeler, US Army, serving at Santiago in 1898

RULES
(A) When in doubt, agree with Ace.
(B) Pull my reins up sharply when needed, for I am a spirited thoroughbred and forget to turn at the post sometimes.
