Naval Issues

Wed May 13, 2009 5:17 pm

Just a few issues i've noticed with the navies. It could be me doing something wrong as well.

1. How do I move the naval fleet back into port? Anytime I drag the fleet onto the land area with the port, it doesn't let me drop it there and gives me red text about not being able to go there. If i leave the fleet in the coastal area next to the port, it can be intercepted by an enemy fleet. I can't ever seem to move a fleet back into an off map box, so once my australian and indian fleets left they never were able to move back home.

2. Fighting the overseas raiders, or a fleet without any L range ships, always ends in a stalemate because the enemy has no ship capable of engaging. How do i sink these ships then?

The beta patch 1.06E fixes this bug.

Yes, most of times the fire range is not enough for the combat, mostly depending on the battle type ("trap" is best, the other types make a fire range not enough)... so it's just a question of time: the more times you engage them in combat, the most chances you have to trap and destroy the enemy!

Not sure if this is supposed to be this way. But since I started a new game under 106e my fleets based in scotland are using a very wierd route.

To get to dogger bank, just one sea region away from where they are at port, they go across to the enemy coast and through like five coastal regions before going north into the wished for region that is their destination. Now unless there is a hurricane in the north sea? This is just wacky. It forces them to go through all those mined coastal regions which inevitably causes some of them to be damaged.

Infanate Naval Battle

Sat Jul 04, 2009 10:53 am

HI there,
I'm stuck my Naval Squadren of battleships is apparently "trapped" by a smaller squadren of german ships, but none of their ships can enguage me at long range but they wont retreat meaning that I'm stuck in a never ending battle .... (plus Id assume my dreadnaughts should be able to shoot at ships at long range whether or not they can fire back)

Hand hand! :mdr:
I'm recovering quite well now.

Unforunately the big desktop pc for ww1 development is dead since 15 days ago! :( And I'm still waiting for a repair! Grr!

Your bug report: do you mean the naval battle does never end? Haven't you tried to flee?

The no combat if no suitable range is right. Also, the naval duel lasts 15 rounds max, so it should end when one side successfully flees, or at least at the end of the 15th round.

Known issue. The naval path generator is to be improved. ;)
