NCP after AACW and a question

Tue May 26, 2009 6:30 pm

Hi All:

I very happily started out with AACW and have been spending lots of time learning at the very capable hands of Athena. I subsequesntly purchased NCP as I had always loved the period and spend some significant time studying it. (I went so far as to marry a French women...I digress).

My question is why is it that the forces in NCP seem to operate behind enemy lines far more easily than in AACW. It almost seems as if they can retreat forward at times. I dont believe they actually do but after seeing large forces stay behind the lines for weeks it just seems different than I am used to. Perhaps I am missing something here.

For the record I am patched current.

Hello Rondor.

I can not be sure about the answer to your question, as I have never played that much NCP and now it's been months since I ever played it at all. What I can say is that AACW has, and is being, continuously improved in many ways, but the development and bug corrections of NCP has effectively been stopped months ago, unfortunately. Maybe there resides the reason to some problems you may find in NCP.

Regards

Thanks for the reply, Franciscus. If what you say is the case it's sad that something that *seems* so egregious has not been addressed yet the game is still at full price and I just laid down the $ for itless than a week ago. :(

It would be nice of someone with some knowledge/authority of the NCP game might chime in and help explain what I am seeing. Like I said, maybe it's me missing something.

Hi!
The scale in both games is different, so it is hard to compare them directly.
If you think you see such a problem, you should send a saved game showing how the problem arises and how to replicate it to AGEOD for correction.
Sooner or later, if a new patch is made, you will see the problem fixed.
On the other hand, if you just want to start a discussion about this issue, you are free to do it... but don't expect to see AGEOD "fix" something that is not reported properly. ;)

Thanks!

I was just asking for some explanation rather than insisting it was a problem.

Well, it is difficult to explain what happens in your games if you do not show an example of what you are saying. ;)

Not sure what is exactly the problem you see Rondor... :bonk:
you mean less ZOC effect?
no problems to have supplies behind enemy lines?

In any case I don't remember having that feeling while playing NCP
