Okay, Doug, if you unzip the file directly into the WW1 folder it will not do it properly since the WW1.exe will still be within a folder.

What I suggest you do is unzip the content using winrar onto your desktop, then once that's done, just look into the folder and copy everything inside into the WW1 folder. It will ask you if you want to replace the current files just click on yes for all.

That should do the trick.

New update of 1.06E

Tue Apr 28, 2009 7:46 pm

Hi,

herewith I attached a new update of the patch, zip format as usual now.

I fixed a couple of bugs in:
- execution of movements of coordinated armies
- check of grand offensive result again

Plus, there was a wrong tooltip in army reaction button.

Thanks,
Calvinus.

Will there be a comprehensive patch so you only need to patch the game out of the box once?

Can this latest version of 1.06e go right on top of 1.06d? Or do we need to have installed the first version of 1.06e (in the original post here) first?

v1.06e Public Beta patch (Windows Installer)

Fri May 01, 2009 11:09 am

As a help for those uncomfortable with unzipping and moving files into game directories, here (zipped up) is a windows installer version of the v1.06e public beta patch. As Calvinus states, install it over (on top of) the v1.06d "official" patch.

Regards
.

Luca: We are trying to wait for a game that will play seamlessly! I don't think I will make it at my age. I will not download this until it is finally approved by you/players still trying to play. :neener: t

Tagwyn, this is a *beta* patch. If you are unfamiliar with the concept and what it means for your playing experience, make sure to find out before putting it to use :)

Some things I have noticed....

Thu May 07, 2009 12:09 am

Hi Calvinus,

1. Is there a way to bring back an HQ after it dissolves from lack of supply?
My Austrian IV army, you can see in the save.

2. During the reinforcement phase using the HQ bar on the left to place units, sometimes they go in the HQ above the the one you wanted them to.

3. There was a CTD error, It said Windows needs close type error etc.... All I can tell you is that it was during the interphase and it was at Gorizia with the AI doing the sieging. This happened in the save that you have, but it was during the August interphase. Sorry I thought I had auto save on.

You have to build again the HQ and all its corps, Recruitments window.

It happens when you drop the unit not exactly in the middle of the HQ sprite.

I'll have a look at this. Can it be reproduced each time?

Hi,

I would like to build the HQ again, but I dont have the option. Its not available to be built, its not listed there. Check the save.

About the HQ bar, I will check again but it happened a number of times so I dont think its human error but I will pay more attention to it.

Regarding CTD I couldnt reproduce, the save is from June and it happened in August, I tried but the AI will not do the same moves so its unlikely to happen again. It did happen on the Interphase siege phase and it was the AI's siege, thats about all I can tell yeah..

I tested your save without any AI freeze or locup. The game progressed fine till the Interphase, then I quitted. Side note: nice seeing Japans taking Tsing Tao! :D

Low RAM? Probably this could be the reason why you had the lockup.

Mmmhh.. it looks strange. Being in position "zero" (not deployed), the HQ should be available for build... Ok I'm going to check it. ;)

The problem is that the size of HQ interfaces makes the GUI overlap for some pixels one on the following one, so that if you drop in the overlapping portion, the graphic engine detects you dropped it on the second one, not the first.

Oppss.. sorry! I did a mess! :bonk:
HQs that are destroyed because of prolonged isolation are destroyed once for all... that means they are eliminated phisically from the game and cannot be rebuilt.

Calvinus is under tons of work at his IRL job, so it may take a little more time. In addition, he has to complete the Russian version too (yes, the game will be distributed in Russia :cool :)

However, very few bugs were reported since publishing it in beta, so this should not be a long wait.

Philippe is right... I'm having an awful period at work... :cuit:

However, thanks to a report from Tamas, I spotted and eradicated a crash:
- Fixed a crash in "peaceful frontiers garrisoning" rule checks

So herewith enclosed you can find an update of the 1.06E beta-patch. :)

Thanks,
Calvinus.
