Add to the wish list....

On the ROSTER have some way to sort Generals, units etc..by state or "grand" region they are located in. Sorting by location now is alphabetical by the first letter of the city or region they are in which is of almost no use. Is this hard to implement?

Accessing a particular general from the roster by a "double-click, close roster, go to general" command is kind of a wish list from BoA. Don't know if it's possible. I got to the point in BoA that I recognized all the province names. Not enough brain cells left to memorize all the province names in AACW.

Unless I misunderstand you, that is implemented in AACW. Just click on his NATO(-like) icon. The Roster will close and the map will jump to his location.

Thought I'd tried that before . . . . I'll try it again. Thanx.

You also can sort them by rank, by clicking on the Rank entry. I think you can sort them other ways. Just click around on the ledger and see what happens.

Is this still possible? Clicking on the unit symbol which shows the General's stars takes you to that unit on the map. Is the rank listed in some other way in the ledger that I am overlooking that allows you to sort your generals?

At the risk of sounding even more foolish, that's not what my ledger looks like.
It looks like this:

Completely different tabs on the left. I am playing the latest patch. I'm sure I'm overlooking something obvious, but for the life of me I can't figure out what.

You are almost there. Click on the gold flag under the flag with the padlock and you will see the screen Grey referred to.

I would like to see Jesse James & Bloody Bill Anderson added to the CSA as bushwackers, (Missouri). Made available early April 1863. William T. Anderson was a guerrilla leader and Jesse served with him, a brigade would be excellent, don't forget Frank :D .

The book Lincoln and His Admirals notes a case where Lincoln personally initiated a military operation. He was in the Ft. Monroe area and thought the area of and around Norfolk should be assaulted. His military leaders complied, successfully. Could have a one-time "Lincoln intervenes personally" event that switches a non-active leader to active.

I shouldn't read so many history books. They give me impractical ideas. :p oke:

I like this idea, especially with all the inactive leaders that I have playing as the Union.

IMO the usefulness of the generals roster is hampered by the fact that after your sort the list by name, the sort is run on the full name, not the last name.

Thus when you go down the sorted list looking for Gen McDowell, you had best be aware that his name begins with a 'I' (for Irving?) and not with an 'M'.

But I remember generals by their last name, not their first, so the list is frustrating for me to use (but I do use it).

:(

Can this be fixed ? Or does everyone else not see this as a problem ?
