I've noticed it as well. I figured it was just WAD to keep players from "gaming" the activation rules: stripping inactive leaders of troops to load up active leaders with same.

QuickFix Patch for v1.12 thru v1.13b update versions

Sat Feb 07, 2009 8:13 pm

For everyone using v1.13b or for that matter any of the v1.12 patches:

Posted below is a QuickFix patch that fixes a movement problem with land movement between regions 48 Lawrence, PA and 416 Trumbull, OH.

You don't have to start any scenarios over. Just save the game you are playing, exit the game, install this QuickFix, restart the game, and resume whatever scenario you were playing.

A big thanks to Manstein for finding and reporting this broken movement link.

for details, see: http://www.ageod-forum.com/showthread.php?p=129804#post129804

Pocus: I'll include this fix in the next batch of reworked data files whenever they're submitted. For now, these are manually edited file fixes. I'll have to adjust the shared border points with ExMap once I get the Laptop back. (I don't want to waste an hour redownloading the latest maps)

Just for everyone's info, I have so far found this latest patch [1.13b] very stable and playable. Solid patch!!

I have the Kentucky Neutral Add-On installed, as well, and all is going fine in the full campaign.

i installed it (i was already updayed 1.13b) but then there was a problem with dating
i started a new full april campaign but the date was July, and in old games there was no more month, only year
so i reinstalled 1.13b and it works good again

With this new patch I don't know how to sort my generals in seniority order anymore. Has the generals roster button been taken out?
I usually need it because I won't promote a general if he is too low of seniority and not to pay too high a price for promoting low seniority generals over higher ranking guys.

Oh, just disregard my post. I have found my generals now. They were in hiding...

Hi
There is a new stacks list on the ledger. :coeurs:
The old one (units list) is there too.
You can change from one to the other pressing the F1 key or with the empty tab on the left side of the list.

Thanks Arsan. I found it albeit a little late.

Why is this tab in hiding now? Strange...

Which tab? you mean the units list?
I guess because both the new stacks list and the old units list use the same page. Only one can be the default, and teh new (and very useful one) was chosen.
But going from one to the other is just one click/key press away :)

Well, I rather meant the "switch". I didn't see it down there. I was just so accustomed to the old version of the game.

Mainstein,

I found the switch you are looking for by clicking on the bottom yellow tab on the left side....the one with nothing on it....Once you click on it the full list of Generals, ranks, etc come up.....I think that is what you were talking about???

Lensman,
Question: Does the Quickfix2 have any effect on the Kentucky Neutral Add-On ?
I have been out of gaming for awhile getting back into ACW. Let me get this straight:
1. Install patch v1.13b
2. install Kentucky Neutral Add-On
3. install Quickfix2
Should bring my game up to date, right?

1.13a and 1.13b

Fri Mar 20, 2009 4:05 am

Does anyone know if you can play PBEM with 1.13a and 1.13b? It's a long story but I'd like to know if these two versions are compatible.

Thanks.

Sat Mar 21, 2009 9:05 pm

Lensman and Pocas,

Found this when I just started an Apr 1861 scenario,v113.b,QFix 2, No Kentucky add-on. A location for a city missing; Warren, Va. Normally it is a depot. This might be a bug.

I just started ,no movement, was taken sceen shots to get city locations for my operational map.

New: AACW v1.13b QuickFix4

Sun Mar 22, 2009 12:36 am

Due to Injun's reporting on some rather strange placements of CSA Generals in Canada/Upper New York, I discovered a "possible" flaw in the placement logic of the CSA leaders in the CSA Leaders.sct file. The errant placement could occur in any scenario not just the Kentucky Add-On scenarios. Attached below is the latest AACW v1.13b QuickFix. In this case it's QuickFix4 and contains all the previous QuickFix files for v1.13b. Just install it over the current v1.13b installation. It does not matter what Quickfix you had loaded previously AND it can be applied without having to reinstall the Kentucky Add-On files...(the files contained therein are mutually exclusive from the Kentucky Add-on files)

New: AACW v1.13b QuickFix5

Sun Mar 22, 2009 11:32 pm

Thanks to a recent newcomer, SkyWestNM, a flaw was discovered in the bombardment capability of artillery units placed in Vicksburg against river units transiting the Mississippi River to/from Joseph Run. Attached below is the latest AACW v1.13b QuickFix.

This Quickfix5 removes this flaw and restores the bombardment capability. As above, it contains all the previous QuickFix files for v1.13b. Just install it over the current v1.13b installation. It does not matter what Quickfix you had loaded previously AND it can be applied without having to reinstall the Kentucky Add-On files...(the files contained therein are mutually exclusive from the Kentucky Add-on files)

see:http://www.ageod-forum.com/showthread.php?t=13627

edit> For now there's a dual harbor exit point for Vicksburg... a minor discrepancy that will be corrected in the next full "official" update patch.

Corps that march to the guns appear to fight as they should, but do not appear in the combat report.

What runyan99 said, and I think the off-def modifier is a little screwy. Sometimes the power rating at the top of the unit display is less than the sum of the individual units' powers when there is no out-of-command penalty.
