Couple of Queries on Supply

Wed Jan 07, 2009 12:45 pm

Wonder if I can get clarification on supply sources. One source is a friendly city - does this still act as a supply source if its fortress is being besieged by enemy forces.

Also the rail source - can supply be traced by rail through a region which is occupied by enemy troops although they have yet to convert the rail track.

It seems to me that in both the above cases line of supply should be cut, although it doesn't seem to be.

I'd really appreciate some thoughts on this.

From the board game (which should coincide with the computer game):

A fortress is always in supply along with its garrison corps. A fortress may also supply one non-garrison corps in the same hex.

The rail line between the rail supply hex and the supply source can be of any length, provided it is free of enemy units or unbesieged fortress ZOCs

Exact. Will post later this week-end of first draft of the manual (PDF) sections 1-10 with these points covered :)

Good - look forward to the draft manual. In the meantime, can I take it that a besieged city fortress cannot be a supply source for units more than one hex distance?

I know I'm being a pedantic nuisance, but I have a couple of German AI HQs which appear to be drawing supply from a city which is being besieged by the French.

Oh just ignore me - I'll wait for the manual :D
