new supply limits

Sun Nov 12, 2006 10:24 pm

Hi,

I'm confused about the supply limits as stated in the 1.10 notes. Where it says supply wagons can now carry 15 supplies (16 British).

Is that each supply 'element?' 4 elements per wagon unit? So a full British wagon unit would carry 4x16 supplies?

The detail report of a full British supply element shows it carrying 20/16 supplies, 20/16 ammo.

Please clarify.

Thanks.

I may be mistaken, though I'm not so sure this is working as intended.

My understanding is that in 1.10, each element within a supply wagon now carries 15 supply (16 for Brits). So an American supply wagon with 4 elements could carry a maximum supply of 60 (64 for the Brits). The 20/15 or (20/16) we are now seeing may simply not be reflecting the new limits and still using the pre 1.10 numbers.

It makes sense that an American supply wagon at max supply capacity of 60 should move a tad quicker than a similar British supply wagon carrying its max of 64 supply.

for supply units, we have modified the database and re-exported both campaigns, but not all scenarios, so in these the initial supply stock is the old one.

4 elements make a unit, so overall a supply wagon holds 60 or 64 supply points.

Insofar as supply wagons are concerned, it seems the 1775-1783 Campaign (incl. alt version) and 1776-1783 Campaign use the new supply limit of 60 and 64. Whereas the 1755-1763 Campaign and all scenarios continue to employ the original supply limits of 80 for all wagons. So in the case of the latter, the totals are calculated correctly, it just looks a little confusing as it may read 20/15 (current suppy/max capacity).

yes, but the wagons in the scenarios won't go above the 15/16 limit once depleted.
to be done yes...
