Inability ti raise New Units

Thu Dec 11, 2008 3:49 pm

Hi everyone

I am having a small problem with ACW using v1.12. In early April 1862 I go to the reinforcement screen to recruit new units. I have plenty of money (over one thousand), enough companies (over 200) and enough war supplies (over 1000). I then recruit a varied mix of regular, militia and support troops. I procede to give instructions to my various units already in operation and once I have finished doing this press the next turn button. The AI merrily goes off and does its thing. Units move and units fight. The messages come up but not one new unit has been raised. :p leure: Any units previously raised before this date receive their full complement of troops and are ready for combat but no new and I mean no new units appear on the map or in the message board. I have checked the reinforcement page and have seen that the money, companies and war supplies have all increased.

Please help before Washington is over run by the Rebel horde. :)

I you are playing vs AI, this seems either a failure, a ORD file erased, or something like this... the best you can do is redo the turn...

Go to the load game roster then... wait until some options appear.

There is an option allowing you to go back 1 turn, or more if you wish.

You can do a backup with ALL the files inside the SAVE directory, then do the load old turn...

Hi Coregonas

I have tried that. Got the ORD file back (I assume the red paper clip is the ORD file) put in my reinforcements as required then ended the turn but the same problem occured. Quit the game but every time I tried to reload the game it now crashes. Looks like I will have to uninstall and then re-install. Could the 1.12a patch have caused this problem? :(

Hi Gray Lensman

Sorry about the confusion (on my part) the version is 1.12a. I have completly uninstalled the game and reinstalled both game and patch. Just started a new campaign and hope (fingers crossed) that the problem was nothing more than corruption on my pc.

I have now reached March 1862 (can't remember if it is early or late :bonk :) and the problem has arisen again. I uninstalled the game, reinstalled and then reinstalled version 1.12a. Played on the full campaign until 1862 and then my recruiting stations have all closed. . One thing I did notice this time around was in late Sept 1861 when clicking on the blue fleet flag in New York the message box vanished but the mini box remained. I could only get the message box back by left clicking on the blue flag again and, whilst holding the left mouse button down, sliding the cursor across the screen. This occured once or twice throughout the winter of 61/62.

Any help towards solving this problem would be a great help as currently I am unable to continue playing the game in its current condition.

L know this is an addition to the previous message but I felt it would be best as a new post.

I have updated to version 1.12a (RC4) and it appears the problem I was having has vanished.
Now I am very happy with the game. :happyrun:
Good old Ageod. :winner:

Thanks Gray Lensman just up dated to the 1.12a (RC5) patch and hoping that the problem has disappeared over the horizon.
Still a very good game though.
