Goodaye,
There is obviously a significant pent up demand for a useable manual given the complexity of the game and people having to stumble around in the dark.
Having read my way through the entire downloadable rules I'd imagine that transcribing the board game rules to a computer game form with appropriate screenshots and explanations would be a huge task and one that a single person would be unable to do in a reasonable period of time. Even more so if they are under pressure as you (philippe) no doubt are.
Given that the board game rules are broken down into a series of booklets (basic rules, advanced, trench warfare etc) would it be possible that the computer manual is released in a similiar format. Eg. The Basic rules book, along with the explanations of the interface could be kicked out first.
This won't answer everybodies need for information but at least it would get something useable into the hands of the players a lot quicker than having to wait for the mount everest task of a complete, comprehensive manual.
It would also serve as a feedback loop for the completion of the remaining manual sections as if something wasn't explained clearly then you'd know about in time to rectify other potential manual inconsistencies.
Just a thought.
Cheers,
Plugger
