Politcs Phase

Wed Nov 19, 2008 3:57 am

I'm a not sure I understand which phase the politics takes place? I almost missed it but I was clicking on the top left bar displays and got the political events display. So why wouldn't I just attempt as many things as possible? Is it cause I'm limited to so many attempts? If you don't use to you lose the possible attempts?

When do the results of these occur? Is technology done after the deployment/Military phase?

Still trying to get a grip of the order and not miss anything.

Thanks!

Political phase is handle every Interphase, i.e. every 3 months (end of a season). But you issue orders every turn, they will just be treated during the Interphase only... ;)

Ok, what you just said makes no sense???

I can issue order to political events each turn (ie: things like War Economy, sub warfare, add leader, etc.), but they only get executed every 3 months?

An inter phase is only every 3 months?

:wacko:

Ok, I'm losing my mind trying to understand the turns, phases, interphase, and gizmos? My god, why can't it just go through and let you do things one by one? Ive missed setting crap from some of my countries each turn cause it's so cryptic to know how to press small little buttons and at the right time. For some things it makes it more obvious, but research for example you could miss every turn. I suppose it's a steep learning curve, but why not at least let the players cycle through the possible areas for each country they own?

Not sure about others, but I'd pref that. At least I'd know what I'm passing on rather then just getting screwed because I press 'end turn' and then was like 'oh shit I forgot something'. There's no warning about 'Are you sure, you forgot to set munitions for Germany (you moron :bonk :) '. It can even be a mean message, IDK. At least I'm not lost.

I thought there was no political phase (or interphase at all) in 1914. How is it we can choose from the political options?

from what i saw so far playing the game, you can use the political icon every turn but it is treated at interphase. in another hand i think you can cumulate those sucessfull political decision who will be treated at interphase.

is this correct?

So you can for example three War Economy changes and they will *all* be executed (if you're lucky)?

It depends on how many actions you can do per interphase...

You have three kinds of limitations:
  • generic max level per nation (it comes from NW and it tells the number of pol. actions you can do at all);
  • max level per action (it's intrinsic to the provided action, i.e.: Wartime economy can be planned max two times per Interphase, see PoliticalOptions.xls DB ([game dir]\Modding\DBs folder, column "Max per Phase"), this limit is clearly displayed on the window;
  • max level per action (it's intrinsic to the provided action, i.e.: Wartime economy can be planned max 40 times per nation, see PoliticalOptions.xls DB ([game dir]\Modding\DBs folder, column "Max per Nation").

Ah, good to know. And thanks for pointing to the Modding}DB folder, loads of useful stuff in there. :)
