Probably you are trying to move more than one army towards the same target area. This is forbidden (boardgame rules).

One of my frustrations is trying to move an army to the location where an army currently exists (even though I am moving that army as well).

Example- III Army is in Area A and making an attack on the enemy in Area B. I have IV Army two areas behind A and I want to move it to where III Army is now. Under the game rules, I can't do that even though III Army is scheduled to move out of Area A into Area B for an attack.

What happens as a result is that I am not able to move a reserve army up behind an army that is making an attack. Seems odd...anyway to adjust that?

a possible solution

Yes that is frustrating as atacking will not allow you to move one army where another is at all, even if it is moving away. I am sure this will be addressed in the patch , or a future patch. However I think you can turn off the stacking limits and this should solve the problem till then! :w00t:

You are right! These are the annoying side effects of porting a boardgame into a PC game... You gave me an idea! To my opinion we could remove the 1 army per area rule if the WEGO mode is no (no army-by-army activation).

I will ask to Philippe... ;)

That would be fantastic! Thanks!

This requires a bit more thinking, because this is not so "simple", especially to code...

What I feel we should keep as a rule is that in no cases we have 2 stacks from two different armies in the same area... this would lead to a nightmare of coding in case of battles...

Now what you want is one army can 'take the place' of another army... I believe this is simpler to code, but would require some 'order' in the way the player process its army handling...i.e. you would be allowed to drop an army into a region which already has one, provided that the later already has a move (away) order...

Remains to see what happpen if, for some reason, the move of the army that leaves the region (target of the second one) has its move cancelled... what happens to the other army move...cancelled, stopped in closest region, etc, etc...?

Ideas ?

If I. Army is blocked and can't go to zone A to B, then, it seems logical that II. Army, which should take its place in the zone A and coming from zone C shall stay in its zone or, at least, the closest zone

just think like in real life: armies movements are coordinated, so if an army stops, then all other armies behind it stop where they stood...

Now the problem would be: What if I. Army is forced to retreat.... then entering into collision with the coming II. army.... Then it should, IMO force II army to retreat also, even if this may lead the II. army to go back furhter than it initial zone...
