Can't stop the music

Tue Nov 11, 2008 12:47 pm

Nope. I'm not a Village People fan.

I'm not a fan of in-game music ... so I go to the control panel to turn it down/off.

Shift the slider as far to the left as it will go.

And the game STILL plays the d**m music.

Bug ... I hope ...

Launch the "configure game" option (in your WW1 menu in Start menu), there you can turn off "enable music"

Check the configuration program where you inserted your serial number.
There you can click to mute music, sound effects...
Regards!

PS: don't tell anybody, but i also use to turn off the music of nearly all games after 5 minutes ;) :D

Thanks all, I did figure this out eventually ... though why, oh why, did the developers include a control on the in-game control panel for doing this when it doesn't actually do anything?

I like ingame music. But the music is too loud and the slider doesn't work.

The fix will concern only the on/off checkboxes for sounds and musics.
The slider alredy works, but the max value is the max value of your stereo. So check the volume currenly set in Windows. ;)

Calvinus,
I had the volume issue also : what happens is that game starts with set level, but at some time (don't know what triggered that) it comes back to full volume.
It did that to me several times.

Mmmhhh... I use a mp3 library to play musics & sounds. This mp3 lib is not developed by me. Whenever I play a music or sound, I use a fade-in and fade-out. Well, I do not know what exactly this lib does to reproduce these effects. Probably it calls an internal procedure of the sound card??? In such a case, probably your sound cards do not support such effects... :bonk:

I never had this problem. On the other hand, provided I use an external lib (though access to the source code), I suspect this cannot be fixed!
