I've been fooling around with the demo over the last couple of weeks. Well finally got off of my butt and purchased the game and received it today. Have the latest patch installed. OMG! I thought the demo version was good. This thing rocks. I cant believe I did not see this game earlier. The Ageod team has a real winner here I believe. Also the members here who contribute to this game should be commended as well. I would name names but I fear leaving off a name and offending someone. Kudos to all. Happy gaming to all.
And sorry if I went off topic.

just found something interesting i have a guy called robert mitchel who came in the year two batch of commanders well i stationed him in louiville kentucky and then about early or late september of 02 a general appeared in louiville called robert B. Mitchell are they two different guys or is it a duplicate one has one of those pictures that is not of the guy while the other is a picture that was added in recently.
Quote General Lee Gettysburg movie,
"Do you see, General, there is the great trap, to be a good soldier you must love the army, to be a good commander you must be ready to order the death of the thing you love. We don't fear our death. But if this war goes on and on and the men die and the price gets ever high. We are prepared to lose some of us, but we are never prepared to lose all of us. We are adrift here in a sea of blood and I want it to end. I want this to be the final battle".

Definite bug. They are one and the same person. Just looked, we have 361USARobert B. Mitchell.mdl, and 579USAR. Mitchell.mdl. The picture is not recent for 361, he's been there. I'm thinking maybe somebody was trying to add Ormsby Mitchel to the game (he was kind of important) and got the names confused? I just drew a new picture of Robert Mitchell yesterday, because I noticed there was a "new" leader with no face.

Maybe it was my system, maybe not. I had 3 consecutive games crashes during a battle segment at late july 1861. Anybody else experience this? Since then I almost had a fourth but rode it out. Sound went nuts for a good solid minute then it died down and all is well. Just was curious if anybody else had anythign like this.

Sorry for your trouble cmdrsam... Do you still have the previous turn (named backup1) around? We can take a look.

No I am afraid after it happened the third time I cleared out 90 % of my saved game files. I think I still have the 4th one where eventually it played thru. I will propably start another campaign this weekend. If it happens again I will post and make sure I save it this time.

It did happen again. I was wrong however it is late July not June. Pocus, what do you need exact and give me a step by step process on how to get the info to you and I will make sure I do it as soon as I can.

It's not a deal breaker. I still enjoy this game immensely its just an annoying event.

I need the saved game, it comes with up to 24 backups turns, saved automatically by the program. Please send it, in a single ZIP, to pmalacher@age-studio.com.
Remind me of this thread, thanks!

I don't know if anyone else has thought of this, but you can really confuse some people in PbeM with that naming convention. Sometimes all they see is unit names. Corps can become divisions, divisions corps, corps militia. :)

When you're up face to face with someone, this would probably work best. Although if your hide value's 1 they would see the game.

(Main Force)
Actuall units and stats listed

Also here:
Blah bl;ah blah's Command, power 115

So Blah, blah blah's command needs a hide value of 2+ to become a faux corps, in which case the terrain and leader traits come into play again.

I have a question for Jabberwock and whoever else. How come the deceiver traits don't seem to work all the time. It says "if entrenched, +1 to the hide value of the unit" but a lot of the time the unit's hide value remains at 1.

EDIT: NM I figured it out.

If a group is in a region with a structure (friendly or enemy), its Hide Value is set to 1 unless in Passive Posture.

Just found a possible major problem but should'nt be that hard for you guys to fix. ok I was playing for the first time with randomized general stats i used the medium one. the stats have changed when you look at the individual guys but when a battle happens I checked the leaders on the top in the battle results page and it shows them all with the stats that they would have when its not randomized not sure if its just a graphic error or if some how its not getting the randomized general stats factored in

Its a graphic issue. The randomized stats are the ones that actually get used.

Oh, man. This really, really works. Fricking hillarious seeing a massively superior force turn tail and run. I feel a little guilty in that he may not be aware of the name change feature yet, but hay, war is war. Whatever works!
